Wheel to wheel racing will likely be fatal.

I feel like there is one line to be fast in each corner so staying close to the leaders waiting until they leave the optimal line under heavy pressure is a key strategy.
Uphill sections will be a good overtaking oppurtunity for the torquey cars. (Ninja I am looking at you)
My strategy is to take the first corner at insane speeds because of my low weight. Everything else is a matter of consistency not making too many mistakes.

I'd agree with you mate, but there aren't enough hills. With the fact it's the 80's layout and not the modern one, meaning Graham Hill bend is as it should be, it should enable me to carry more speed, hopefully closing the gap to the front a bit.

Season 2

So, this is the idea so far...

Spoiler: 'Cars'

The car list will under-go a modification. We will be using more modern, better looking and a wider variety of cars, each tuned to be as close as possible. There will be 3 cars per manufacture allowed. Car choice will be awarded in reverse championship order. Those who did not compete will follow the first come first served rule. However if a driver has not chosen their car by a specific date, then they will lose their opportunity of priority pick.

Car list will be announced at end of season.

Spoiler: 'Race Format'

The current format has worked very well and every driver wants the current Q, Race 1, Super Pole, Race 2 and the Power Race 3 to continue.

Spoiler: 'Car Parts'

Cars may again run an optional rear wing and front splitter this time. However flat floors will still be banned. Sports Soft tyres will still be used and drivers are currently allowed to add any parts wanted to their cars for tuning.

Spoiler: 'Calendar / points system'

There will be 8 rounds (24 races). There will be 2 races in Europe, America/Australia, Asia and an original GT circuit. There will be 2 dropped scores allowed to be taken at any round.
The points system will remain the same, except there will be 1 point instead of 2 for Pole/Super-Pole.

Calendar will be announced at the end of the season.

Spoiler: 'Trophies'

There will as usual be the Drivers, Independent, team and Manufacture trophy up for grabs. As a fun extra, there will also be a tyre manufacture trophy. There will be 3 of each tyre manufacture available.
'King of ... '
Although these trophies will not be admitted to the hall of fame, they will still be noted. There will be 4 in total, king of Europe, Asia, USA/AUS, GT. The driver who scores the most points in the 2 rounds in that continent. This gives late entries an opportunity to still challenge for a title.

I had thought to use -5bhp instead of 10. This will be tested at Brands.

Spoiler: 'Support Races'

There have been some recommendations for support races, so after consideration, the night will be turned into an evening of racing, chilling and socializing.

G-One
This will be a small 10 minute race that will use the season 1 cars of GTTCC. It would be nice to give the cars that started this series and won our hearts another season.

Formula ?
Just like the BTCC has the formula ford support race, we will have an open to all no tuning race. We are torn between the car to use. Either The rocket car or senna's F3 car. Please give your preference. This will be a 10 minute Q (points scored, then a revers grid with points scored.

GTTCC will then take place

GTKC
This will be a series by mikey who has agreed to run it as a support race to GTTCC.

This will be a karting Championship and will be held in mikey's room.

There's only so much I can do mate, coming up and putting it together is the easy bit, its getting a good grid of drivers together that's hard.

Another month probably mate, but as we're changing it a bit I just want to try make sure things are balanced and work. Just seeing if there's any problems with this with others and any changes to make

Brands is one of those tracks you have got to love but hate. It really will produce some fun racing though. Let's see how the BTCC boys get on tomorrow. Come on Plato!!!


In a bit, i'm going to give a brief of season 2. The racing is good and interest is growing, so i'll be happy to carry on. I won't reveal all the info yet, but will give everyone the general idea. Thank you to everyone who gave suggestions, I have tried to accommodate them all while keeping the GTTCC close to how we love it.

But on this seasons note, after the final round, we will have the Polyphony Cup. (If we name a trophy after them maybe they'll work harder on the game?....)
This will be a one hour endurance with a 24hour frame in game, .... at Spa-Francorchamp

Here we go, hopefully the 1-hr+ races I used to do months back can allow me an extra edge. That said, Spa Francorchamps will be a tough course to remain consistent on, so any edge I would have is pegged back. A 24-hour format is very interesting indeed, will there also be a chance of rain?

I'm actually not too bad in the wet. In one of the licences (Funnily enough, Spa) with the Nissan GTR, I was a faster than guys that ordinarily rip me to shreds. That was nice. Although it's been a long while so I may not have that finesse anymore.
