They're probably beautiful in person, but that picture does not do the car justice! Looks cartoonish with goofy proportions. Quite an ugly picture. Anyway, I voted SZ. The car is an automotive icon.

D-Type may be race car, but it's not only race car it's also road car, a legend, base for 60s road Jaguars and simply beautiful.

However, so long as you're not looking at it dead on from the front, the thing is absolutely beautiful. Back that up with the sound and performance, and this manages to scrape into Sub Zero.

That's one of the more flattering photos I've seen where the front is visible. Probably amongst the best D-Type shots around actually, and not just because of the Ecurie Ecosse livery.

Looking straight at the nose (or a near enough angle) whether it's a photo or in the flesh makes no difference. It looks amusingly vacant either way.

Are we looking at the same car, or do you need a trip to the opticians?

Look at it... it's one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

Stunning proportions.

It's up there with the other best sounding cars. Looking down at us driving muffled cars.

I was clearly referring to the specific picture in the OP guys. This picture right here is beautiful...

I have come to a verdict.

Sub Zero. Even though it was most infamously driven by Mike Hawthorne to a "victory" (Moss/Fangio were 2 laps ahead and running at the 8 hour mark, when Mercedes decided to pull out entirely due to the horrific Levegh accident a few hours earlier) at Le Mans in 1955, this car is sub zero for the same reason the 300SLR is.

Because '50s racecars were driven by badasses, and badasses are cool.

Sz because it represents the roots of what brought all of us together.

:odd: Internet forums?
Amazing that someone participating in vintage racing could not understand the comment I made about what brought us all here.

Gtp... Gran turismo planet... Racing game forum... We all love racing and cars... Simple enough?

I'd rather think someone missed the point than think they were being flippant about a subject we all care about. Lets face it, for once the comment made was meant to bring us together rather than divide us. 👍 all the same I get it and appreciate that people understood my point. :D
