Sub-Zero, see no reason whatsoever to vote this uncool. Any one that would see a GT40, original or even the Mark III, would consider it a legendary car. It made history.

It's sexy looking, it's fast, might be for road but it's perfect on a track.

The Mk. III GT40 was to Ford as the R15 was to Audi. It was the uglier, less successful model that came between greater versions of the car.

@OriginalCheezIt Why didn't you nominate the Mk. I or the Mk. IV? (Well, probably because you liked this one better) The Mk. I, if polled, might have a shot at the Miura.

As there are other, cooler GT40's - and they populate that small ring of absolute zero in terms of coolness, for me - I have no choice but to give it simply a Cool.

The whole Britain vs. American GT40 thing is pretty funny.

Ford had to ask help from Brits to make GT40 successful. Good thing is that the Brits did very good job.

Sub Zero.
The uglier, non Le Mans winning version of that car that the Americans always claim that they built to beat Ferrari with when they didn't actually build it.

Oh, and it's a Ford.

Uncool.

Yes, the original GT40's were made by Lola in Britain. Those were crap and kept breaking and losing. Only after they got sent to Shelby American for a massive rework did they start winning races.

USA! USA! USA!

Big middle finger to Enzo? Subzero. Actually knowing the differences between the Mark I, II and III? Uncool.

Yes, I'd like a Mark I, please. I am, obviously, seriously uncool.

MURICA!!!!!!! Hell yeah*

Let them have this Zenith, I mean it's not like they have any great F1 teams in the past I don't know 40-50 years of the sport. Great teams that went to Le Mans and won from the beginning of Le Mans, they also need to have the craw that was placed in the ass of Ferrari (though they have this in F1 on a regular basis)

*I can't say the f bomb on here so I had to be more subtle :(

I nominated the Mk III because I think it's the prettiest of the two GT40 road cars. There was no road car for the Mk II or IV, so a lot of "SUBRC" would be going on.

Nice video on the MK III, good luck trying to find one with sound, but 4.7 was in and that is the same one in the MK I so it probably sounds the same as that just muffled.

Rats, picture didn't work. The joy of working from a smartphone.

Fixed, now, but I'd like to point out, this is a Mark I:

And this is a Mark III:

I'm sure we're all in agreement about which is prettier, right?

Well, I hope we are. Because I'm having a hard time deciding.

I'd struggle to call either of them pretty  But Ironman (and the Mk III) is certainly the better looking of the two, to me at least.

@FordMKIVJ5 how have you missed this topic?

I haven't. I simply haven't voted yet because I'm not sure what to vote yet. :boggled:

On the one hand I want to vote "Sub-Zero", I keep reminding myself that it's the ugliest of the 4 Marks, sells for large sums of money so is rarely anything other than a garage queen and simply doesn't have the same aura as the other cars.

I gave it a cool because, it's not a MK1 which would be a simple Sub Zero but it's still a beautiful car and still and impressive and fast road car. In my opinion it's not as bad as the MK4 which in my opinion isn't a good looking car.

Lol, it's always a pain in the ass to read that stuff. Specially because by then, the UK had nothing that could remotely compete at the highest levels, yet people smack-talk about how Ford had to rely on the brits to build the GT40. Indeed, it was a mistake by Ford. They would have been better off having Shelby build them from the start.
