Massively influential zeitgeist vehicle. Tarnished by long term engine reliability. High cool.

Looks like it wasn't built properly, like they somehow managed to make the body panels look like they were manufactured and found to just not quite fit so they hammered it together. Uncool.

Upper cool for me, tickling SZ. Reliability issues let it down, though I believe long term fixes are available nowadays (bit like the Triumph Stag in that regard)

I saw one of these regularly in the early 90s in that wine colour, and it appeared to be a daily driver, as it was always parked outside a shop on a busy road. I had to describe it to my brother who at that time was a much bigger car nerd than me, and I'd really assumed it was an 80s car (I think I likened it to a Ford Granada).

1967! Someone needs to put this in a montage of other popular models from that year, it would look positively futuristic.

I would happily have one of these as a practical yet quirky classic, if I had the space and the means.

Looks like an odd-mashup of Citroen and old Audi (?). Anyhow... it's interesting thanks to the rotary, and though yes... you might have to explain that to people, the only people that are going to ask in the first place are probably going to be impressed... and impressing people is cool :D.
