Ever since I've known about this thing I've always been fascinated with how absolutely strange and odd it is in every freaking way, down to the very fact that Aston Martin of all things built something like this. Fascinating cars are hard to come by. Sub Zero.

If you just showed me a picture of this with no prior knowledge of it being an Aston, and you told me it was an Aston, I wouldn't believe you. Honestly, Aston can and has done alot better, so in turn, you'd expect alot more from them.

Driving this Aston is a bit like saying; "My life has gone horribly wrong". Your life hasn't quite gone the way you wanted. And your afraid to admit it so you've gone and bought an Aston. But it's possibly Aston's worst car, but at least in your eyes, it's an Aston so your life is still on the straight and narrow? Wrong.

Interesting concept, because this really isn't the cheapest Aston you can buy, in fact there are Lagondas more expensive than a new Aston Martin Vantage. Of course this kind of thinking is one of the reasons why this car is so uncool, but simply expecting that this is the Aston people who have lost everything will buy is wrong. The maintaining expenses of this thing may cause the lose of everything, though.

An estate version also existed. These look awesome in person but again, fantastically uncool.

It may be expensive, but not all expensive cars are great. You could probably find one of these laying around somewhere for a reasonable amount of money (nowadays, second-hand), less than some current Aston's. Point being; Aston's are renowned for their looks, and this Aston, doesn't exactly live up to that.

Some people may genuinely like the looks so that wouldn't apply to everyone who owns one, so, to each their own, I guess.

I wouldn't say that people want these for the looks. It's more like the sheer insanity of the car, with its digital 70s scifi dashboard and with only small number actually made, it's like an experimental late 70s concept car that somehow ended up in production.

Anyway, I can't complain if you think, it's an eyesore or badly made.

It's an oddball for sure. It's wierd, ugly, fat, slow, unreliable and all the right ingredients to be very, very, very uncool. But has an amazing presence, aged fantastically, and it's actually appealing, all because, as @Cano, said they are very fascinating, starting with the fact that Aston brought it to life in the first place. The estate version only makes them more awsome.

Cool

Makes it look like a Delorean in some odd way. I don't know why I see that, but I just do.

The estate reminds me of that odd Mercedes-Benz C111, or the Mazda rotary from the same early 70s time period.

This car has taken almost four decades to become very cool, yet very cool it is, in my eyes. It's just ridiculously unique, and as for reliability, it's a little like the Porsche 959, if you have the money to own one in the first place you probably have a specialist workshop on speed dial (that said, it's also reflected in the current value). Back in the day however it was a total dog, but it's matured in the same way as the Ferrari 412. Someone (I think one of the HK guys) took an awesome pic of one of these in the DYSAGT thread. Will linky later. SZ.

That actually looks nice. Nice shorter wheelbase, two doors. More Aston than the real production car.

Why does every interior pic look like a scaled down Model?

anyway uncool, aston is a cool brand but this is far from a cool car.

Great car.

Great engine, completely ruined by a bunch of incompetent monkeys who couldn't get a fine Bosch injection system working. At least they could be reverted to carbs without too much trouble.

Also. Thirsty engine. Really thirsty engine.

Heavy plus it sorta reminds me of the Jensen Interceptor which is cool but not with the Aston Martin badge. Plus that interior looks like it came out of a James Bond movie. Uncool bro, Uncool.
