I just realized something, shouldn't we be accounting for the 1971-1976 Firebirds, as they are on the same platform as the 1977-1981?

Splitting it pre and post restyle is fair enough. The C3 Corvette spanned pretty close to the same span of time and the early ones of those were about as different culturally from the end models as the early second generation F-Bodies were from the end ones.
