One of my automotive guilty pleasures, and an uncool one at that. The Leone was far from the coolest Subaru but giving it agricultural aesthetics didn't do it any favours.

Would have voted even lower if we were counting the restyled BRAT. I always felt that they were a model beater car.

I'd say it's cool. Quirky, not typically seen and it's a ute style car which are cool. However they are major redneck attractants.

These have somehow aged so well, were a bit of an anachronism in their day but now are just a stylish, quirky and practical all-round package. I remember when in the UK these were pretty much the only Subarus around, adding to their uniqueness. Upper cool from me.

Utes are cooler than regular pick-ups, but they're still utility vehicles. Uncool.

I used to think this car was cool. However, the three I've seen have all been in uncool environments. I saw one at a show, clearly a garage queen. Not cool. The other two were together, parked in San Francisco. Specifically, under an overpass, in one of the rattiest parts of SF. It was full of homeless people. And that's not terribly cool, either. If I saw one on the road in the UK, I'd think it was cool. But the ones I've seen have been in quite uncool positions, and I can't ignore that.

Cool. Brumbys are great little utes and they rarely ever die. And they have the typical Subaru agricultural charm about their styling too.

Looks like the type of car that would putter around somewhere in rural Latin America, taking all kinds of abuse without ever missing a beat. Cool.

They are possibly conflating the image presented by a quirky-even-by-1980s-Subaru-standards psuedo pickup with the image presented by something like this:

Even though no contemporary Good Ol' Boy would have ever been caught dead near one. These would have been Midwest and West Coast vehicles.
