I have always found these to look extremely awesome. Then rally car. Then widebody kits. Then that thing at the Nurb. Yup.

Manta Manta..!

Just not seeing the specialness boys and girls, don't get it at all. The Manta A (as many mention before me), seems prettier to me. Thinking to 1982... What are this car's main rivals, and why is it better? Don't get it.

Uncool.

Ford Capri, Renault Fuego, and to a lesser extent, the VW Scirocco.

No one here said it was better than those or anything else, however. Most have voted cool based on its rally exploits (however unsuccessful they may have been), or because it wasn't exactly the go-to coupe of its time and a delightfully rare sight nowadays as a result. Much like the Renault 19 16v, the only real downside I can see is that it still has a whiff of chavviness about it. But with age I feel it's done just enough to outgrow that image for once.

To add to that, I wouldn't have thought so a few years ago, but I consider the Capri to be cooler than a B2 of the same vintage. While the opposite is the case with the Manta A and the equivalent MkI/MkII Capri.

There are very few cool Opels. This is not one of them.

I tried to have a think of Vauxhalls/Opels that I liked the other day. I came up with two: the VX220/Speedster (which although I like, I'm still not convinced is a cool car) and the Lotus Carlton, which is all types of sub-zero spectacularness, but isn't entirely Vauxhall's own creation.

I came to the conclusion that whatever car Vauxhall has produced in the past 30 years or more, there is always an alternative - normally several - from a rival manufacturer that A) is better, and/or B) I'd rather own.
