About 5% of people are going to notice that you haven't just got any old hatchback but a Golf GTI, and they aren't necessarily going to find it cool either.
It could be worse though. It could be Corolla GT, and at least in the Golf you won't look like you're going to end up upside down in a ditch in a spectacular manner just because you think that a Corolla can somehow make you a rally driver.
