As of lately, I've kinda grown a strong dislike for supercars. Sure, it's fast, it's got gorgeous styling, it's a Ferrari...but I cannot shake the feeling that I'm gonna find remainders of white powder on the glove box of them.
With an 80's built Delorean, You won't find JUST remainders. :sly:
Hmm. I count 1 who got the joke and 1 who didn't. I must petition Jordan for sarcasm tags.
Of course that sounds like a great idea. (Sarcasm:lol:)
In all seriousness, It does sound like a good idea.

On the subject of the Testarossa. Its not the greatest one they built in my opinion, but its the one we all remember from the arcades. Not subzero by any means but its still an attention grabber.

Cool.

Flat 12. Red head.

Flat 12 = Cool
Looks... ugly
How it makes you look... silly
Don Jonson had one... Sub-Zero
73hp/litre... not terrible

Seriously sub-cool... which would be m'eh

Derp, did I cool wall right?

Had to give it a cool. It was so quintessentially 80's, but it was the direct competitor for the Countach & that thing screamed 80's even more. :P

A car born in the 80s and gradually getting cooler the further away from that era we get. Not quite Sub-Zero, but pretty chilly.

Also helps that it has one of the best contemporary Ferrari rear ends.

In white, sub zero - but in red it just becomes so very meh.

I have so much love for the Testarossa and the vibes it evokes; So I'm going to say SZ, it's just such a cool car.

Also, I was thinking, this car should be DLC for NFS Rivals. And based on its media appearances, it should become the second car to pull double duty as both a cop and a racer.

I wouldn't hold out hope. They keep putting the wrong one in Forza games; and if PD ever gets around to getting one in a GT game, they'll probably model the late term abortion that was the 512M because Kaz saw it in a movie or something.

Perhaps, but EA/Ghost Games will probably get it right assuming they don't just move on to the ugly supercar of the week, LaFerrari or whatever. They did put the Enzo in the vanilla game, so there is some hope.

Hey guys, it's 1995!

...guys....where did everyone go?

Edit: Have to say, the Hamann 512M is pretty delicious:

Possibly cool as it was the last flat-12 Mid Engined Ferrari (I think).

But then you realise it is 6 feet wide, styled in the 80's and gave birth to the 512TR.

Uncool, I'd rather have a 348 if I wanted a mad side-straked Ferrari.

The 512TR wasn't that bad. The 512M was horrible.

From the front, the Hamann looks better. The problem with the normal 512M is that it still had an inherently 80's looking design, with a rounder 90's front end, complemented by similarly hideous wheels. Add in build quality even I can't ignore and seemingly insufficient track width in the back, and you have a discordant, kit-car-looking mess. The Hamann version seems to have a more unified design, so is better.

The Testarossa is one of those cars that pulls my emotions in separate directions.

On the one hand, it's a mechanically interesting, cultural icon that was actually fairly quick and apparently drove fairly well.

On the other, its reputation isn't exactly fantastic given those who bought them, it began the downturn in Miami Vice quality, and it's of the era where Ferrari well... Didn't exactly know what they were doing more often than not.

Not uncool enough to be uncool. Not cool enough to be cool. But certainly something more than a 'meh' either way. I guess that means I'll abstain, then.

Looks decent, has nice motor.. But, having sat on the drivers seat: The instrument cluster is dreadful and looks like it came from a FIAT of same era, footwell is cramped and my size 9 1/2 extrawides struggled to find correct pedals, clutch requires Arnold Schwarzenegger's thigh (if you can use it without hitting the brake pedal), and the shift lever would require both of Big Arnies arms. Oh, did I mention that it was all black inside, and even tiny 5'5 me found it slightly claustrophobic?

Uncool.

The Testarossa would previously have scored an uncool for its hairy chest and medallions sort of image, but these days it's old enough to be appreciated as a connoisseur's car.

Tom Selleck isn't cool?

Every time I hear Testarossa, I think of red test... errh... zygote sacks.

In other words, the name makes me think of genital herpes.

Still cool, though.

Plus, it's EA. They'll probably charge you an insane amount for it.

This implies it's good for the environment. Therefore, for consistent Cool Wall voting (CCWV), you must change your vote to Seriously Uncool.

"New Ice Age imminent? Blame the 4.9 flat-12."

Selleck never drove the Testarossa, he drove the Ferrari 308 GTS.

It's hard for me to vote on this. Common sense says it should be Sub-Zero, but the Lancia 037 we had a while ago set the SZ benchmark really high for me. The Testarossa doesn't quite mach it as far as coolness goes in my opinion. Still, it's balancing somewhere between Cool and SZ. SZ may it be, just for the sake of it.
