I wasn't really aware of this car previously, but it's awesome. SZ. Is it me or does the tagline "Inexpensive. And built to stay that way" make little sense? I guess they mean it will always be manufactured inexpensively and this shows in the eventual price, but it's still odd.

Oh yeah reasons? I love me some unique 80s-ness, and I love ambitious tech (well it was at the time), and the fact that it's potentially 4WD and turbocharged is all gravy. Not sure if we had these over here at all, the only 80s Subaru I was aware of was the Brat, and that was scarce.

The XT6/Alcyone VX? But it wasn't part of the nomina-

Was originally going to nominate it, but I swapped it with the 4 cyl due to it losing what seems to be a critical voting decision point, the 80s gauges.

Thought the cars were too separate to bring it under one nomination.

I think these are so unbelievably gawky and '80s that they have flown right off the end of the Seriously Uncool end of the chart, and looped back around to the other end, thus embodying a sort of subversive, unintentional Sub-Zero.
