Low cool. Would be sub zero if we were talking of the Pikes Peak monster or Paris-Dakar rally version. Mi16 is also cool, as well as the 4x4.. But most of the lineup is quite boring.

This car is so dull, that I completely forgot that my parents owned one before they bought a 605.

So dull.

You're thinking of the larger 605 ;)
The 605 looks even closer since the character line actually is integrated in the body like in the 164 and the wedge shape is more pronounced, but that just makes the 405 look even more like a 164 with all of the design details that were interesting surgically removed like it was some sort of modern Volkswagen; except one that happened to debut at the same time in the same size class by the same designer as the more interesting one did. Even the interior of the 405 looks about as exciting as a contemporary Corolla.

I don't see any BX in any of them.

Decent looking sedans, especially in Mi16 guises. Mi16 ones are cool, but the rest are boring, so will get my standard mass transportation vote: meh.

I was talking about styling.
I wasn't, but I see your point.

I would say, in the 405's favour, that it does look better on the road than it does in the slightly unflattering pictures at the head of this thread. It's quite well-proportioned and compact, which helps. Very colour-sensitive too.

But Mi-16 aside, which adds a welcome dose of aggression, it is a fairly featureless car - though the same can be said for virtually every other four-door sedan of the 405's era. Aside from the XJ polled a few days ago...

Edit: And I've just noticed that Peugeot is spelled incorrectly in the title of this thread.

Is that not what meh means?
Meh doesn't have to mean that if you don't want it to. Meh to mean means I couldn't give two :censored:s about it.

Boring allows you to go incognito.
That's not cool to me. I want everyone and their mother to know who just pulled in. Drawing attention to myself is to cool to me. To others, no, but to me, very much yes.

So, you give a damn about something that's boring?
Meh means that or I don't really have an opinion either way, just "eh" *shrugs*. Depends on uncool or not. Mostly depends on the car, sometimes yes, others no.

I feel asleep looking at the pictures of this thing. Seriously uncool as a car, but cool as a cure for my insomnia.

Racing pedigree drags it up to meh.
I'd actually completely forgotten they used them in the BTCC. Not that a race car should influence votes of a road car, but I think the 405 touring cars looked fantastic:

It's definitely a car that can be improved by a set of large wheels and a drop. Though that's the case for most relatively boring cars, as they tend to make good 'blank canvas' designs.

The fact that these were Pininfarina designed and UI didn't even remember about it until I read it here speaks a large ammount about how absolutely bland these are. Hyper-bleh.

I like it. I can see that it might be dull, but it also seems to have the essence of car down pretty well. It's quite simple, but it has an element of that French combination of style and humility. I think it deserves a low cool.
