That is literally the worst reason anyone has ever given for claiming a car is not cool in one of these threads. Ever.

Have a think about how goppingly awful some people's posts in these threads are and then consider how bad that few seconds of footage must be as a reason, to be worse.

Haha...thanks but no. That's not a reason to call a car uncool.

I'm not calling the car uncool because of that footage.

Great car. Responsive steering, easy to modify, great grassroots racing car, and you can have great fun at street limits.

Everyone is happy to see a Miata! It's one of the few cars where owners will wave towards each other on the street (Or flash the pop-up lights) People will call you gay, or girly, but then you give them a ride and they seem to change their mind. Girls love the car as well. All them good 'ole boys in their lifted Chevy's get no attention, but that kid in the bright yellow convertible? Cool.

Looks like 63 other people went through the same thought process I did when I nominated it - it's cool but missing something that prevents it from being Sub-Zero. I also assumed the V8 Brigade would all instavote Seriously Uncool, but it seems some can see past the engine 👍

Also, partially off-topic, but it does have something to do with the Miata; I'm looking for books that cover the Miata and the 911, does anyone know of any good ones?

Why, yes. Yes I do.

It gets a solid cool from me as well.

I've never understood the stereotypes either. I'm from Kentucky where we're apparently all white trash cousin lovers who love our big V8 trucks and I see far more males driving these cars than I do females. I love trucks as much as the next guy (not really a V8 fan though, more of an I6 diesel guy personally) but I plan on owning one of these cars fairly soon. I wonder what will happen to my penis though? According to some it has completely retracted inside of me because I daily drive a dually, diesel truck and I'm assuming the purchase of a Miata would have the opposite affect? That is another discussion though, I suppose.

You'll have both bases covered I reckon as they'll cancel each other out, either way you look at it:

1-1=0
(-)1+1=0

Yep, you're all good.

Because of the headlights, I never found this generation of Miata "feminine" or "girly". Sure, it's small, but still.

I give it a SZ. I feel pretty indifferent about the later Miatas. They just lack something that this car has, but I can't put my finger on it.

Cool, not sub-zero.
I've heard nothing but good things about this car until it comes to the stereotypes. No way around the fact that it's very small, lots of people consider it cute, and in America a guy driving one often looks like a mid-life crisis type who couldn't afford a corvette.

All that said, I still say cool because I feel like being kind hearted today. :sly:

Do you really value the opinions of those who deride cars as "gay"? They'd be the sort of morons who need The Sun (the tabloid, not the star our planet orbits) to tell them how to vote.

Given that it irks the aforementioned morons, it bumps it up to SZ for me.

EDIT: Stupid stuff was here, read @homeforsummer's better one.

I think it's cool.

Fun little sports car that doesn't need a track to enjoy, you can buy them in good shape for a reasonable price and won't cost you an arm and a leg to run.

If I could afford a second car at the moment, that would be no.1 on my list (although I am not 100% sure I would fit inside:) )
