I have to imagine a convertible version of that car would be extremely floppy.

Yeah cowl shake like a earthquake. It would be a fun cruiser. I wouldn't mind one, that car "would Baby" well.

Well, what did you expect, 2013 luxury standards? Just joking around, though it was a 1993 luxury vehicle, compared to a Rolls Royce (which should seriously be put in GT6), it's nothing.

Uncool.

This car was cool up to Mark IV. Just like Henry IV's successors with the same name, all pretentious and Seriously Uncool.

Uncool.

The only thing that saves it for me, is the admittedly bland but still rather interesting interior.

Seriously uncool. Lincolns in general are uncool. Not to mention their terrible air ride suspension that's prone to failure.

Yeah. Except the few good ones. Suicide door continentals and Mark I, II, III, IV, and V are okay.

Guy I know derbied 2 '60s Continentals and came 1st and 2nd overall with them.

Yes I agree 100% actually. PRE-1970s Lincolns are pretty nice. I was vaguely thinking of 90s models.

It's on the ugly side of things. Not hideous, but it's still a far cry from an attractive piece of machinery. Sure they took a different approach with the interior, but eh, doesn't help it.

UNCOOL

I'm not gonna lie, I think the car's cool. Having said that, do not buy one, unless your hobby is throwing time & money at cars you can't find parts for.

Lincoln Continental? The Panther? Sub-ze... oh... that thing? Seriously, incredibly uncool.

This.

It wasn't a bad car and I always liked the way they looked, but it's not a cool car.

And this.

In my opinion, the best Lincolns are the MkIII-V Continentals and the first gen Town Car. I like this car, but it's terrible, so meh.

Always wanted one. Uber 90s. Great 4.6 DOHC V8. Cush interior. Seems like a great GT car provided the air suspension is working. Usually it isn't.

Cool.

:0 it has air suspension? Man I didn't know that. That would have bumped it to sub zero.

Yep most if not all '90s Lincolns did.

Yep, they had auto-leveling for carrying loads and what not. But if you want a stance car or lowrider and not too worried about suspension geometry and function or buying after market bags or coilovers you can find a lot of old Lincolns slammed to the ground because of there prone suspension failure :dopey:

As an aside, I think the cool wall trend should shift more towards these types of cars. The responses and even the poll results are much more interesting than the generally universally loathed or loved cars.

I'd put it among the "what the hell were they thinking?" cars of the '90s, but they sure did sell fairly well. It was a very strange era at Ford, that's for sure. Still, it's seriously uncool for me.

Personal luxury car were pretty popular for decades and weren't just Fords.
Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Ford T-bird/Merc Cougar Buick Riviera and Cadillac Eldorado were all in that class. They are weird cars if you think about it, a Coupe that is NOT sporty but a Luxury car.

Also one of the earliest adoptors of H.I.D.s, and no, you can't fix that properly anymore either. Maybe a eBay kit.

Actually, I...kinda like it. I find its looks rather unique. Or, well, simply "different" compared to many 90s cars. As a whole, it's not really something that caters to my taste - it's like trying too hard on exuding luxuriousness while still showing a touch of blandness. But it has some sort of understated charisma, despite some of its parts being quirkily proportioned. I think it's appreciable.

I just heard about this car though, never knew about it previously.

I'm going for "cool".

I like the Mk VII better than this. It had the 5.0 L Mustang engine and BBS RS wheels. I'd say the Mk VIII is uncool.

The Mark VII was pretty cool. This one suffered worse than any of the other two from the problems with the MN12 platform. Only the Thunderbird came out of it fairly unscathed.

What they were thinking, I think, is to provide a car to compete with the BMW, Mercedes, and maybe Audi models of the day. They may have also been trying to compete with the early Lexus and Infiniti, except that I think the development of the Mark VIII started before the first Lexus or Infiniti luxury coupes debuted.
