A bunch of video gamers will wax lyrical about it because it was an overpowered straight line machine in the first iteration of a franchise.

Uncool, almost seriously so.

It was 40kg lighter, barely a difference.

Well there must be much more going on with the JDM models then for a mid-13s car to suddenly be running high-12s. And there is a lot of conflicting information as to whether or not the MR had much shorter gearing, whether or not it had the 13G turbos as opposed to the smaller 9Bs or not, etc. The only constant is that the MR doesn't have any of the luxury items, electronics, active aero etc. that the export models do and as such it is lighter. Even ABS was an option.

Oh, is that the deal with it? I've never even played GT1 once. Well, that's the best thing when you're in your adolescence.

In gaming, all I remember it for is that a friend of mine drove one in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune. Even in that not-at-all-a-simulator, it wasn't very good.

In real life, when I was about 10 years old there was one parked on the bus route to school, and I thought it looked like a Lamborghini. It still looks great, if a little bit tacky.

Oh for sure there would be something, Best Motoring did a thing about how JDM PR cars tend to be much faster then normal, with better tyres, stripped interior compared to what was actually sold and likely higher octane fuels etc.

Was it really? I stayed away from it because it was super heavy and the Mark III Supra I always bought at the beginning of the game was plenty capable of carrying me through most of the game.

Pretty obvious which market this was mainly aimed at. Whilst it's a good car technically, I can't get over those looks, so pans out to a Meh from me.
