There's an alternative universe where Chevrolet went with this concept instead, and the world is better for it

But we got the SSR, which could only be taken seriously once the LS2 was added. When the plug was pulled, I remember a great many of middle aged men cried out in terror, and then, were suddenly silenced. I've yet to figure out why. Even as a GM fanatic, I never really understood why anyone would like the damn thing. The interior was downright ridiculous, and for the price, you'd have been better off with a Corvette or a GTO. You couldn't tow or haul anything (just like the Lincoln Blackwood), and it wasn't fast. More or less, it was an even more macho Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler... You know, with an engine that was worth a damn.

But, kids love the damn SSR. Grown ass men love the SSR. I'd say its uncool, but, I've got no idea what the world likes these days.

It's so seriously uncool that it is actually challenging PT Loser and Pontiac Aztek for the title of uncoolest car ever made. No, it's not a good thing. KILL IT WITH FIRE!

Nope. SU.
I had no idea these were only sold with V8.
Anything less and the obscene price Chevrolet needed to charge for it regardless of engine would be just too much to swallow.

Too add to this, the SSR like the HHR, reminded me of a more powerful (in respective SS trims) and GM version of the PT cruiser. Now I know they had ties and homages to actual old school 40/50s Chevy vehicles but still.

Retro gone wrong. Seriously uncool.

Btw, how long of a mullet do I need in order to drive this?
