2003-2009 Bullet Roadster SS nominated by @Murcie_LP640
Engines: 4.0L Supercharged V8 (Lexus 1UZ-FE)
Power: 436 hp
Torque: 424 lb-ft.
Weight: 1180 kg
Transmission: 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic
Drivetrain: Front engine, rear wheel drive
Body Styles: 2-door convertible, 2-door coupe
Additional Info: "A low-volume Australian-made supercar made to look like a wide-bodied MX-5.
Originally Bullet Cars used a 13B rotary and 5-speed gearbox from the Series 4 RX-7 and planted it in a spaceframe chassis with the mostly-untouched NA Mazda MX-5 body surrounding it. Due to its major success they developed a V8 model using a TVR-sourced Rover 4.6L V8, and when they became of short supply they moved to the Lexus 1UZ-FE V8 as seen in the Soarer (SC400) and LS400.
In 2003 the Bullet Roadster became the first low-volume Australian-built vehicle to comply with Australian Design Rules and therefore was able to be sold as a bona-fide production car. The Lexus V8 was fully stripped and re-engineered to comply with ADR emissions; in naturally aspirated form the Roadster is capable of 0-100km/h in 5 seconds and revs to 7800rpm, but the real hero is the Roadster SS, with a Sprintex supercharger increasing power to 320kW and torque to 575Nm. The SS was capable of a 12-second quarter mile and 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds.
The drivetrain was strengthened including a heavy-duty clutch and limited-slip differential, brakes were upgraded to 4-pot Brembos, and the body was made using carbon-composites and fibreglass over a new, lightweight spaceframe that exceeded the required torsional rigidity specifications by double."
