While meh looking, it would've been nice if we had the FGX instead of the fat Taurus.

Can this be nominated for the joke of the year?

Well, comparing to european competition it is. And far from joke. Also is data correct?

and those stripes ugh. I regret not giving it uncool on that alone

Why does anyone need to compare this to the bi-turbo V8 Euro-beasts of today?

Of course it's going to be low on power compared to the most exceptional models on sale. It needn't be said really. That doesn't mean a turbo I6 in something much closer to a working-class saloon than an executive motorway muncher must be dismissed as insufficiently powered. It comes close enough to the supercharged XR8 that it's hard for me not to have more than an ounce of respect for what it offers. A super saloon for a fraction of the price of the equivalent AMG.

Though it does lack where it really matters in threads such as this. Mondeo styling with boy racer trim just isn't cool.

Can I change my vote?

I didn't see the stripes when I voted cool, and I think they're god awful, so I want to change it to a Meh.

Hardly engine can't save this. It's not underpowered to me anymore, but it's charmless anyways.

Good old american and australian muscle cars. Built to last, staggeringly beautiful. Unfortunatly they like to drink.

This is way less tacky, decent modern aussie car with decent looks

European competition?

The European "competition" that is even in the same price bracket as this car are the very basic model Germans.

The cheapest European cars that can even match this for its straight-line performance (Audi RS3 Sportback, A45 AMG) are thirty grand more expensive.

Well, comparing to european competition it is.
And it has already been established that no such "european competition" actually exists. The closest thing this has to a competitor in any market is the USDM Charger R/T and Commodore SS/Chevrolet SS.

The only other turbocharged inline sixes are mid-300hp, so how's this underpowered?

Anyhow, it's anonymous and white with black wheels. Uncool.

RWD Ford Taurus, which add up to uncool, throw in Australia and it becomes seriously uncool.

Sorry, that's just nasty. I had to double-take at the model year after I'd seen that shiny 90s interior. Awful. Uncool.
