Im not being passive aggressive towards anyone, I'm just saying that it's a shame that people judge cars based on the people who drive them.

If something like the RS didn't actively try to pander even more to a certain demographic with each new iteration to the extent where Average Joe already knows what sort of person is likely behind the wheel, I'd have an easier time judging it based on their other qualities. But since the current Focus design has little going for it in any guise, there's frankly little left for me to judge. Like... how it's 25% cheaper than the equivalent German mega-hatches.

Um, yay?

Having test driven the car, it didn't feel that great. It felt unnecessarily stiff, and very uncomfortable as such. It was super responsive, which was nice, but between looks that make me just shrug and the feel, it's getting a meh from me, and I actually feel too nice on that for once.

I feel that the philosophy of "I don't like this car because I don't like the people who I perceive drive this car" is a little judgemental, don't you think?

Seriously Uncool

And I would be very surprised if they were to ever become anything more than that. In 20-30 years time these will not have aged as gracefully or have retained a sense of 'fun' that an old hot Escort or hot Fiesta has done.

I know people love to be biased with their opinions on the cool wall, and despite my previous statements, I'm mostly O.K. with that, but I prefer to look at all of these cars with an unbiased opinion as possible in the spirit of fair play. There are some uncool cars that would be SZ to me. Forgive me for getting triggered at the fact that this car will probably get an uncool, but I'm in love with this thing whether only yobs drive it or not.

Endearing yourself to the car and not letting others have their way with what their thoughts are is what can make a Cool Wall nomination a Dodge Aries thread.

I mean, I can attest to this well. I had two cool wall threads on cars I liked, and both did poorly. I took it in stride and carried on.

I would rather have more fun in Megane Trophy R or Golf R

While I haven't driven the Focus RS, literally anything could be less boring than a Golf R. Fabulous car to drive, plenty of performance, supremely comfortable. Fun? Errrrm....

I was writing a nice paragraph on how I was sorry for disrespecting other people's opinions
You really weren't. Saying that you're okay with other people being biased because you aren't being biased isn't anything but self-aggrandizement, no matter what riders you attach. Perhaps if you had done something to explain how bias came into play beyond framing impartiality in relation to your posts, it would be different.

Hence questioning if you actually know what the word means.

Here comes Dodge Aries v2...I wonder if I should tag a certain someone to watch the mess.

I'm having trouble seeing how him disagree with a large group was him playing the woe is me and actually trying to be impartial. The last few comments after Tornado seem to be the crowds grabbing their pitchforks. I'm just confused at this point really.

EDIT: inb4 @Wolfe beat me to the point.

Coolness is typically based on how something is percieved, so it's kinda hard for it to not to be biased.

O.K. Guys, if you remember back a few posts ago, I was basically waving the white surrender flag and saying "you guys win, go have your cake." I admitted that I was wrong and I was on my way out, then four different people had to get angry and start bringing up more reaction images, the Dodge Aries incident and spam my inbox with quotes. That's the beauty of the cool wall, guys. People have the ability to agree and disagree on whether or not a car is good or not. I'm truly sorry if anyone got upset at me not respecting their opinions, but I think you're overreacting a bit. People should be allowed to disagree with each other on this thread. I was pressing my argument a bit to far in that some people may perceive it as me attacking others for viewing a car I like a certain way and I agree, I'm sorry I did that. But hey, we're all here to disagree, right?

The Ferrari 458 Italia for example, that car would be SZ for me because it's a piece de resistance for Ferrari's engineering, but lots consider it uncool because Justin Beiber got caught drag racing one that one time, and that's cool, you can think that. It doesn't mean I agree with you that it's fair to judge the car based on what people do with it, and I may propose a counter-argument disagreeing with you, but I think that it's ok to do that too, because that's my opinion and it should be respected as well.

So there you go, you may try to multi-quote pick apart this message to find any inconsistencies and propose counter-arguments, and that's O.K. too, it's what disagreeing on the Cool Wall is for. So you all keep being you, and I'll see you all in the next Cool Wall thread.

Actually saw an RS as a show car when I was getting my new SE. It looked sick!

So my dream garage grows:
2016 Focus ST
2016 Focus RS
2016 Colorado

Is this to say "Sports" mode, "Race" mode, "Ludicrous" mode, "Insane" mode etc. Don't?

Well put, and hell the simple TC off seems to do that enough also. I think hating the car for a new extra mode because it automatically can cause people to look like fools, doesn't give a fair credit to the modes point out above that do it just as well. Launch control is probably the easiest one to pick a part, until drift came out but people didn't seem to give the former any mind.

I love it! I love it's nitrous blue and it for being AWD with 345hp in a Focus and I would buy one if I had the money.

Uncool though, unfortunately uncool, because it has a drift button, which means it'll be a car that attracts the whole hoon community over. Which is a community that annoys me as they're everywhere.

I don't know I don't think boy racer when I see some of the people who bought these. And most boy racers are still trying to figure out what fender flares to get the BRZ/GT86/FRS. Which kind of brings us back to the point about the price tag and the car your buying for it.
