Seriously Uncool. It's just a giant blob on wheels. No soul, no personality, no identity.
I recommend driving one.

They're excellent to drive, even in base trim. The combination of a low centre of gravity, instant torque, smooth acceleration, and quiet electric power means it's the type of car that makes you seem like a better driver than you are, and in that sense it's a bit of a driver's car. The chassis and powertrain are excellent, and so it's unfortunate that the rest of the package lets it down. The rear seat is cramped and thus it's not very practical, and the centre screen has every function in it because it can, not because it should. The build quality is middling, as are the materials. It feels like it's trying too hard even though it's really quite a good car. Oh, and the Tesla fans are some of the most insufferable people on the internet.

Never driven one but I've rode in it a few times, as my friend's dad owns one. I agree with everything you said. It probably is the smoothest-feeling car I've ever rode in.

There's a lot about this car which is very very cool

But the musk of Elon and his worshipers cannot be washed out of this car

The future is here, and it brings with it a lackluster interior and an abhorrent fanbase.

Doctor Who on wheels, basically.

"You bought the Model 3 because you couldn't afford the Model S."

Changes both the car game and Tesla's employment game all at the same time.

I could probably rag on this car and Tesla as a whole for hours. Looks surprisingly good on a set of HRE's, though.

Seriously Uncool.

Very accomplished i’m sure. But ‘accomplished’ isn’t cool. Looks dated too.

Almost everything Tesla is cool right now. They're basically apple products. People who know nothing about cars and don't care anything about them are dying for a Tesla... because it's a Tesla. It's one of the coolest automotive brands in existence.

All the charisma (and none of the coolness) of a fridge, a revoltingly rabid fanbase, a brand whose frontman is about as despicable as pancreatic cancer, and the build quality of an early 90s Hyundai.

BOO, NOT COOL, DISQUALIFIED.

I personally don't like this for many reasons, but at the end of the day that doesn't really make it uncool, does it? I think that coolness has as much to do with how the car appears to non-car people as it does to car people, and like danoff said, in the general public eye this is still a very cool car. Also, even despite the interior, the fanbase, and the astounding punchability of Elon Musk there's still a lot to appreciate about it - yes, it's funny to joke about how it's the 'budget' Tesla, but really that just means the people who own them are less likely to be insufferably rich.

I'll begrudgingly give this a low cool due to both the public image and because it's still a reasonably agreeable car when you divorce it from its fans and creator.

Gave it an Uncool. I don't think large swathes of the general public wanting one makes it cool: a bunch of people were on the Prius bandwagon 10–15 years ago, and that never was cool either.

Because it's so hot right now. It's so hot it's cool.

dims

Ssssssssssssssssso hoooot.

The engineering behind it is impressive, it's quite an experience to drive and it's basically the iPhone of cars (as everyone wants one and it's modern) but I seriously hate the interior.
Ok, it's modern and minimalistic, but that tablet man, I'll never get used to it no matter how i try.
Now, I was tempted to vote it Seriously Uncool, but it has a Fart mode, and farts are funny to the majority of people here so Uncool it is.

I like EVs and even low key like Tesla if you ignore Elon Musk, shoddy quality control, fires, misleading autonomous technology, and its dubious pricing. But as far as the Model 3 goes, it's seriously uncool. Tech bros/brogrammers love it and that's a sub-culture of people who aren't cool.

Going with a meh on this one. I was going between cool and uncool. Most people consider them to be cool, but I will downrate this for the steering wheel and glued on touchpad that look like a modern set-up for driver's ed.

It's true it may be an important car not just for Tesla but also trying to make EVs mainstream, and some of the technology in it is very cool. However it's saddled with a hugely cringey fanbase as well as the misleading antics of the meme-loving, 🤬 posting anime fan that is Elon Musk.

Uncool.

Elon Musk probably thinks he's the coolest guy in history. He probably also thinks Tesla is the coolest company (automotive or otherwise) in history. When your car has built in memes you are dipping into apocalyptic levels of uncool. Toxic fanbase also doesn't help. Result: The Model 3 is among the most uncool cars ever made - in fact I struggle to think of a car less cool.

(That's not to say the Model 3 is a bad car or even that I don't sort of want one, but I would be buying one fully knowing how much of a complete dweeb I would be driving it)

Unpopular public opinions aside, based on my own - didn't like it at first but it has grown on me and the fact that it is an epic autocross/track car has me wanting one in the future. Don't really care what other people think. Regarding the fires, how many ICE cars burn to the ground on a daily basis? My guess would be far more. But it's not happening to cars from a company always under the watch of the media that eats up anything negative.

Cool.

It's an electric sedan that does it's job well. However, Elon's personality, the cult fanbase behind this car and the numerous issues this car has had related to build quality, "Autopilot" and customer service...

Meh.
