# San Galgano Abbey (Complete 4 Grand Tour Events)
# San Gimignano - Town Square (Complete 3 Grand Tour Events)
# Siena - Piazza del Campo (Complete 2 Grand Tour Events)
# Lucerne - Chapel Bridge (Complete 1 Grand Tour Event)

Have i done something wrong

Got 2 Gold's, 2 Silver's and 1 Bronze

G'day Big Ron,

Would you be able to tell me how to unlock those photo locvations? I know about most of them but I would like to be able to use some others (that might be the ones on your list).

I would like to use the one where the car is parked under a natural, stone arch and the one that looks like old, ruined buildings with grass (not the Abbey).

And to find out if there are others I don't know about yet.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Cheers,
Amateur1

And my addition is a list, which shows some more phot locations, which also can be seen at the starting screen after GT5 loaded to the main menu.

* Ahrweiler - Bad Neuenahr
* Ahrweiler - Lennepark
* Ahrweiler - Marktplaz
* Ahrweiler - Niedertor
* Siena - Piazza San Campo
* Bern - Kramgasse
* Bern - Marktgasse
* Kapellbrücke - Luzern Chapel
* Kyoto - Gion
* Kyoto - Shorenin
* Kyoto - Shirakawa Tatsumibashi
* Nürburg - Nürburg Castle
* Salzburg - Red Bull Hangar 7
* Shakado Pass
* Siena - San Gimignano
* Siena - San Galgano

Currently there's no way to access any of the Prologue-style main menu Photo Travel locations. Kind of annoying that PD would show them to us but not let us use them - then again, they do that with the same places with Standard cars too. The fact they're currently unavailable for use in-game is why I don't have them on the locations list in the first post :).

Sixtoe's HDR tutorial has been added.

I have completed all Grand tour events with bronze or better and watched the video in the begging and end. I never saw a video between events and never received the photo locations. Any ideas?

Edit are there videos between the events. Like I said I watched the videos in the begging and end.

EDIT: I figured it out. Just need to pay attention

I use Flickr, but I am new to this. So forgive me if this is a stupid question, but is there a way I can use Flickr to post pictures on here and allow people to click on them to access a big size picture without allowing them access to my photostream?
I also would like to know how to do this. I have clicked several photos (linked to Flickr) that take you to the largest pic (static page) instead of the photostream. I cannot figure it out for the life of me and I know it has to be right in front of me. Someone point me in the right direction. :)

I'm guessing here (and I believe it was talked about it one of this week's comps, either PMC or 2.0), but the easiest way would be to find the large images URL. Not the one Flickr spits out, since that's an HTML link to the photostream page, but just the jpg/png file's location. Use that address in the URL tab of your forum link, and it should work. The same basic concept is what I do for Imageshack (which will probably be dropped as my host of choice because of their recent anti-user changes).

Thanks man. I think I follow ya. I will work on this in a bit, because linking to my photostream just doesn't do some of them justice. It seems Flickr is the easiest for the preview and Photobucket for the large static. No experience with Imageshack, but the way you word it I won't be looking into that service.

Ninja Edit: That worked, not ideally. By clicking on the image in photostream, bringing up a "slideshow" view with a black background, I went to the 'view all sizes' link in the top right and copy and pasted the 'large' link and replaced the photostream url with that one in the forum post link. However, doing that still doesn't give you just a static image like Photobucket will. It will just take you to the page that has all the sizes and all other goings on within the page. Better than what I was using but I'm thinkin' I'll go to the Photobucket two image style (a copy for the forum preview).

Maybe I should post this in the general Q/A, but I'll start here as someone might want to update the first post to include this info.

My 60GB got the dreaded YLOD, but I had backed up my console and the individual save file on a flash. After restoring, I had all of my progress still, but all of my photos were gone. I would like to know why this is and issue a caution that you should export your photos on a regular basis to save them individually.

If I'm not mistaken, the backup utility will only back up saved data and game data. I tried that feature long ago (years) though and for me it didn't backup the hundreds of music, pictures, and movies. I have to been known to have a complete memory lapse though :)

I couldn't restore the game data (different PS3s), but it did restore the few pictures that I had exported to the XMB; it's all of the pics I still had in my GT5 Photo Album that are gone.

What is the best mode to capture flames... Every time I try changing the shutter speed etc it captures it but its misplaced? :confused:

what do you guys usually do in photoshop (or any other software) for post-processing? I've downloaded gimp, it is a quite good software but sometimes I just don't know what to do with the colors and contrast, would like some help with post-processing here :)

I have a noob-ish question. I took some pictures in Photo Travel and used magnification 2x to get a larger or better quality picture. The resolution is 3840 x 2160. I then copied the pictures to my computer. So I wanted to do the usual minor auto balance editing to it but when I opened the file with Microsoft Photo Editor, it says 'Error reading file'. I have no problem opening the normal 1920 x 1080 size pictures. Can anyone help me with this?

Hmmm, thanks for highlighting this; I've added a question to the first section dealing with this. It's too bad you had to find out that way :(

I imagine for the least-blurred backfire possible, you'll want to have the quickest shutter speed (1/8000). The backfires seem to be blurry anyways in this game compared to GT4, though.

I'd suggest taking a look at any of the tutorials, or even asking some members in the galleries if you like their style. Most people are pretty forth-coming with their basic editing. Personally, I use Levels, Curves, and Selective Colour a lot in Photoshop, and that satisfies my needs 90% of the time. Experiment until you find something that suits you 👍

That's odd; I have only used the 2x option a handful of times, but each time it's given the same "damaged info" prompt in Photoshop that all GT5 images give. Strange that there'd be a different reaction between sizes. Wish I could help more.

Thanks! 👍 I think I'll just use GIMP from now on. ;)

Anybody want to help me out here? On GT5, the thumbnail of this picture has the car as being red (as it should). But when I click full size it becomes grey, not to mention when it's not full size the car has a sort of texture to it.. Anyone know why?

Quoting myself from another thread.

Does anyone know how to get those pics displayed on the Nintendo 3DS ? I put the .mpo file on my SD card, tried to get the picture to display in the image viewer, and it doesn't even appear between my other pictures. Does it have anything to do with the size ? The GT5 3D picture is 2 MB, while all the other 3D picture on my 3DS are around the size of 150 Kb.

So I see pictures posted on gtplanet that are sop clear ad hd. Whenever I take a picture it's blurry in some places. Why is this? Do I need to use photoshop or something? Thanks

Well I would recommend for a super clear picture using panning mode three on the camera menu. This tracks the car more quickly giving a clearer image. Also adjust the 'f' number to be higher and this will give crisper images but don't go too high with it (not much above 8 really) else you will loose the depth of focus in your shot and it won't look as good. A small amount of blurring in the background or road surface isn't always a bad thing as it gives a sense of motion and doesn't distract the eye from the car by having a super clear background.

I hope this helps you :)

While RUF is in GT5, there is no Premium models of them to get an in car view, so its still not very good, but i have faith that PD will make that happen one day, (hopefully soon).

My biggest question is, some images are so high definition

While some are lower quality like

I honestly don't know how to get that good quality (1st pic). And both are from the PMC, so they are unedited. :confused:

And this is mine. Notice how low-quality it is compared to the Mustang pic.
