No, you dont have to pay.

Didn't see any sign of these tracks. Like Vegas in GT4 right?

Hi Szmissz...thanks for answering questions.

Are you unlocking tracks as you progress through the game, i.e.: Nurburgring night, Top Gear Track, Kart Tracks, dirt & snow tracks, World Circuits...and if so do they become available in Arcade mode?

Have you come across the Stunt Arena...does it exist in the game?

And my final question is....have you tried the 2 player split screen-is graphics reduced from single player mode?

Thank you

Quick point about tearing:

This is common in video games. It just means the frame output is not in sync with the monitor/TV/whatever's refresh rate (how many times it updates the picture). Syncing these two things causes a frame rate hit.

On PC games this is usually optional. (VSYNC).

Szmissz how about physics engine ?

Is it harder than in GTAcademy ? or easier ? harder than GT5:P?

How about that Skid Recovery Force - did you try driving on different settings of that option ? is it hard set on min ? at least as hard as GTAcademy or easier ??

And thanks a lot for sharing info with us :)

I cant tell you for sure, so many cars, settings, etc. The physics feels right! :)

I turned off skid recovery so dont know the difference, sorry :(

If there were no tearing and you would drop half of the frames, there would be still no single frame with tearing. But as we see in the picture, the tearing is there in the 30fps and it has to be then in the 60fps original source as well. This is a simple question of logic.

Face it, Master Yamauchi is the Master of unfullfilled promises...

So using this simple logic you have simply assumed that the 30fps encoding and the recording using a camera phone are all synced perfectly with the 60fps source? If that was the case yes you would be right, that is a very unlikely occurrence though.

As I said I am not saying there is no tearing, just that you can't tell from a Youtube video.

I don't think that's quite accurate.

In one of the videos from earlier, a Lancer was taken to the Racing Modifications area in the Tuning shop. There, the Racing body was available.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiDJHAMNVA0

Which seems to mean that "RM" means a racing body is available for that car in the Racing Modifications section.

OK, I could be wrong...

(At least in Tourist Trophy it was like I said.)

Yeah in Tourist Trophy, GT4 and GT3 there were no race modifications, this is the return of a feature from the original GT and GT2.

Any idea why we never had screen tearing on the old XBOX or PS2?

Mods, please close this topic and only allow Amar to update it.

this 👍

I'm not having a go at Szmissz, but theres too many questions being asked, that have already been asked/answered, the thread is going into hyperbole again, people are jumping to conclusions quickly, and assumptions being shot wide and narrow.

Yes, the tracks are unlocking as you progress, but the snow, rally, rain, etc stages are available in Arcade mode from the very beginning.

Havent seen the stunt arena yet.

Yes, we tried split screen, but on a very simple track so i dont remember how the graphics difference was.

This is a really good news.
BDW buy 370z GTTuned and try it on that track from GTAcademy - the best way to recognize any differences ;)

I turned off skid recovery so dont know the difference, sorry :(

So I assume it will be more arcade to drive (more like Standard physics in 5P) with Skid Recovery F.

One last question - directly related to physics - (which I would like Amar212 to also answer if he has time) - was it hard to gold the licences with SRForce off ? or is it always on during licences ? harder than in GT4 ?

Well, I'm definitely no expert, but it could be down to individual games. Some developers may sync frames while others choose not too in favor of higher FPS.

As much as Kaz talked about staying at 60fps it's very possible they chose to disable frame syncing for this game.

It would be interesting to know what the tearing is like on a 60hz screen vs a 120hz or higher. Like the 3d TVs have a much higher refresh rate. I wonder if the tearing is more noticable on those TVs when 3D is on/off.

How about a topic exclusive photomode picture before i go to sleep? ;)

Amar, dzidza, Szmissz, I know you are all get bombarded with questions, but… Is the new car dealer like GTPSP or can you buy any car you want at any time?

Amar has already covered the Skid Recover driving aid, he said it's turned on for the National B and A Licenses, he hadn't tried any other licenses before making that comment. He also said that the Skid Recovery aid seems to have replaced the standard or professional physics option in GT5:P and the GT5 demos stating that with it off the game feels more like GT5:P in simulation physics and the TT demo but easier with it on.

He's described it all very well in the first post of this thread.

Hey dude. thanks for the info on the game!!! umm, could you find out if you can do timed races? me and a friend are doing a 24hr race after the game comes out, hopefully if you can do timed races. Thanks again for posting this and not videos.

I'll be playing on it with a 120hz monitor, so shouldn't get any screen tearing. Though I imagine that won't be the case.

The screen tearing has NOTHING to do with your monitor. The game engine drops the vertical sync instead of frame dropping, or slowing.
