Picks are for drivers not cars or car numbers. Simply put, it doesn't matter who fills in for him, its his username which the pick is linked to.

So for Nationwide, Trucks and Sprint Cup, you pick the driver username. If he doesn't show up, you get 0 points for that series round. Its harsh but what will happen. You can use him for the consecutive week after though for no penalty.
