Grrrr ... :banghead:

More understeer in the F1? Well, that's unfortunate ...

I thought it was perfect before the update, so it's not so bad now I don't think. But there is definitely some undesirable understeer.

@roamer2629 if your still on in 20 minutes you wanna meet up online and run some laps?

Actually anyone who's interested I'd like to run some laps with company.

And @RS__96__oO I was just messing around. I'll be home shortly to double check everything, and maybe get a clean lap! Ha.

Just saw this. I might be online later today around 3am GMT. Tried the McLaren but it's too much of a beast for me on SH.
7'37.868 on the bmw

I have run many laps with F1,it is the car I drive the most.I have done 4,00miles with it at ring best I could manage so far was 6:50.398.Anyway if F1 understeers in new update, tell me the version,I would update to that version shortly as thats how I think F1 handle in real life 1.e mild to moderate understeer.

Mr. Apex
Because thats how F1 handles in real life.

@MclarenGT you have to update to the newest version of the game. Any lap you run currently is not eligible for this, or the majority of competitions on GTP.

Dear MclarenGT
Uhm … thank you for sharing your point of view.

Well … I don't like understeer. I'll quote Ari Vatanen here, from the website arivatanenrally.com:

"Throughout my career I always had trouble truly adapting to an understeering car. They are boring. Life is meant to be lived sideways!

The Escort had been such a tailor-made glove to my hand that the Ascona felt a bit like a mitten after that. I never managed to get the same level of confidence behind the wheel of the works Opels. They just did not budge to my wishes in a similar manner. Walter Röhrl could master the Ascona with its inherent understeer, but I need to feel that the car turns in first and only after that can I be positive and confident. Then I can step on the accelerator. If the car has not started to turn in, I'm constantly bothered by the uncertainty: am I still on the road by the time the corner comes to an end... or am I stuck in the ditch!"

That's exactly how I feel about understeer too. If a car understeers and it can't be fixed enough with a better setup or something, then I have no interest to drive it. End of story.

But if someone likes FWD or understeer, well … whatever floats your boat, pal. Enjoy.

I really respect that, all of that "Ban FWD" stuff is just a joke between buddies.

In general I like learning a lot of different stuff. But my gaming time is very limited ... so if there is an NSX and a Dodge Neon in my GT6 garage, I try to sell the Neon as fast as possible. It might be due to my incompetence ... but why choose torture when you can choose bliss
:D

No offence, right? It's all just taste. Guess I need to stop talking and have a go at the M3 soon. The Camaro is a pretty good car, but the M3 has to be faster IMO

I had time only for one session to both cars. Here's results.

I know that feeling. For me though, I just can't feel the BMW well enough to get a really good lap in. I posted a 7:36 but I don't even think that was even good for me. I couldn't really get comfortable with it.

I might try running laps with the McLaren today now that I've reached my max in the WRS TT.

I was going to post a time for the BMW (last) week but I lost track of time while doing one last session. I was not very happy with it anyway and it wouldn't have not made any difference. In hindsight I spent way too much time trying to get a lap with the McLaren.

I like the way the BMW handled but I hated it's gearing, I debated all week trying to decide the proper gear for many of the corners.

EDIT: I just took the RUF for a "spin", I don't think there will be any complaints about understeer this week.

Sorry wasn't able to get in a time for either car last week, I tried the f1 and the bmw. The f1 for me was hopeless, I kept wiping out in different sections of the track. I was surprised how slippery the bmw was, I had way better handling of the camaro than this car. The ruf car is going to be tricky, so far I have about an hour in and I can't even make it a quarter of the track before I slide of the track.

Yea. I knew it would be a little difficult so I didn't want anyone to skip to the easier car or just have lack of time to run both (like I did) try and get a feel for the weight transfer of the car. It will basically turn for you once you set it on motion.

Week #5 LEADERBOARD
Hi everyone This my first attempt in the RGT.Only managed a 7.55.207.Will keep trying can take way more off that time. It's hard to keep concentration.

This is a real drivers car. Smooth throttle, smooth steering inputs and this car is magical. Because of the power I would say it's more enjoyable than the NSX from week 1. If not the most enjoyable stock car I have driven to date. It just does what it's suppose too, and it feels awesome nailing a corner in it.

Due to a new job I'm extremely short on seat time. Only had time for a lap in the RGT after running some laps with my buddies.

7:28.330. Can easily go faster. Good luck!

If you guys get bored of this or just want something different check out @RuddRacer's series he has going. It uses 2 cars similarly matched in a duel type event.
Thanks for the mention @rosckolove 👍

Just fyi I'm making a slight change to my format starting next week. (It did not take me long to realize doing all the testing to find "equal" cars is a pain in the 🤬.) The new format is 1 car and 2 different tracks with one of those tracks always being the Nurburgring. I don't think our events will overlap much since my "stock" cars will be on the lower PP end and I will be using softer tires as need on the higher PP cars to make them more driver friendly.

Currently I have 4 events going on:
2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R & 2000 Camaro SS @ the Nurburgring
1999 Evo IV & 1999 WRX IV @ Trial Mountain Reverse.

I still have not managed to complete a lap in the RUF but I like my chances better this week than last. Actually the car handles great until I try to go fast in it

I am loving the RGT. If I could I would run it for a month to really see what it's capable of. The NSX for the 550pp seasonal is great fun as well. And surprisingly, I enjoy the track.

Short and sweet :rolleyes::lol:

I've got to find out what I'm missing out on. :boggled:
Tonight I'm going to be as conservative as needed to complete a lap and then try to improve my time from there. 💡

No need to be conservative really. Just easy on the steering 'cos the car will turn on a dime. Braking points are fairly similar but you can just fly out of corners really early on compared to the BMW.
