This looks like a great line up. The Sunday series for the league I normally run in is too late in the evening, but 5:30 Eastern time works great. I may not be able to make every race, but I'd like to give this a go and catch as many as I can if that's ok.

Daytona is on the road course. I've updated the schedule for races where the picture isn't obvious. 👍

I've always wanted to do a SuperGT race on an oval though. Perhaps we could do one as an all-star style race at the end of the season?

That's a good question cause I've already done some testing for the oval. For some reason I assumed it was the oval because of the picture. I bet its the road course.
Hey you wanna get together and do some more testing sometime? We are like almost teammates driving the SC430s. If you don't want to no worries, I just need reference points and major tuning help before the series begins.

Possibly. Do you use a wheel? If you need some setup help you can start here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=7988766#post7988766
No I use a DualShock 3 Controller unfortunately. Thanks for the link I will look into it.

EDIT: The setup is great thanks for showing it to me. My original time at Daytona was a 1:50:XX and now, with some practice, I got it to 1:47:890. I still need some work with my driving and stuff but I definitely owe you a thanks as well as the original tuner.

If you like GT or racing games in general, do yourself a solid and buy a wheel. Logitech Driving Force GT is a perfect starter wheel for $100. A wheel will change your experience of the game.

Good advice. I played GT 3, 4 and spent 2 years on GT5 before getting a Driving Force GT. Why didn't I do this sooner, lol. I also picked up the wheel stand pro for mine. Once you get through the learning period, things are never the same. If you do get one don't get discouraged by the learning period. Initially, it's harder to recover a spin, but eventually you'll realize it's easier to not spin in the first place.

Although I really like the GT games, I am only doing all of these series because the servers for MX vs. ATV Reflex were shut off, effectively postponing my online tournaments on that game. So I'm just doing these to pass time and hopefully they will be up again soon. I will hold off on buying a wheel until I know if the servers for Reflex will be up again or not.

Just out of curiosity, how long was your adjustment period going from the pad to the wheel? My Driving Force GT came in the post this morning, just trying to suss out if I will be adjusted in time for the first race!

Mine took a while, I was ready to toss the thing out the window at first. It's all worth it though, if my wheel broke I'd quit racing until I got it fixed rather than go back to a controller.

Anyone done any practice with the GT300 cars? I'd like to know what a decent lap time to shoot for is.

Ill be running some laps this week sometime in the RX7. Shoot me a friend request (since we are in two leagues together) We are practicing for TRL Enduro series on Wednesday, so if you want to run some laps for this series before, then I'm game.

To the league admins : Any official practises for this series?

Lancer opens the room up 30-60 minutes early for practice. Depends on what he's doing at the moment.

EDIT: Can I add you and practice in my GT500? Just to get a feel for overtaking the 300 cars and general stuff like that.

Sure thing... PSN is Scarecrow937.

Took me about three weeks to get completely used to the wheel. I had just started learning to use the manual trans right before it arrived so I had to incorporate that as well. Doing the some of the license test again was good practice.

Took me about the same, and I had never driven manual before (in the game). Make sure your options are set right (set to simulation and power/active steering off), don't be afraid to reprogram buttons (I shift with paddles, so my sequential shifter is set to up=reverse and down=e-brake) and drive with no aids. Like any "equipment" for any sport, only time in the seat will give you the "feel". I got so angry for a few days and wanted to quit, but DON'T QUIT. You will suddenly start running clean and faster than before (though quite stressed). After some more time, the stress will go away. I think I said it before, but it's harder to recover with the wheel. Once you get used to it, it's actually harder to lose it in the first place with a wheel though.

In addition, the SuperGT cars seem to be easier than other cars to get used to with the wheel. I was running on pace in these much faster than in anything else when I got my wheel.

Yeah baby, good balance with downforce, downforce, downforce. I could never drive the NSX SuperGT's until the wheel arrived. Getting the power down is so much easier. Smooth inputs are key. Less movement is more, slower is faster. It all makes sense once you are behind the wheel.

These cars do run pretty equally stock right?? I noticed a 20bhp difference between some of them in the dealership.

^Apart from the GT300 Lexus, they're close enough that we let them run as-is. If one car/driver dominates, success ballast should take care of it.

Yes and no. They are all pretty much equal, but due to each car's unique characteristics, certain tracks favor certain cars. With a unique lineup of tracks like this schedule, and ballast added/subtracted after each race, it will be very equal.

Understandable I did my research and found what I thought was the most consistent car to drive

Good move. It doesn't matter if you are two seconds faster a lap if you wreck every 5th lap. The key is to repeat your speed 44 times over, lol.

I'm more concerned about not crashing than winning at this point. Although as a racer winning is my #1 priority. I'm not a good driver and usually lapped by my own class but it's fun to do.I just want to keep the car in one piece.

EDIT: When will we be added as a friend to the host account? (GTMSA_SuperGT)

Get the consistency and the speed will come. 👍

I have to get the info for the PSN, I'll add everyone as soon as I get it.

I've always liked the Lexus, but without the extra HP it just won't compete with the other 3, that's why I jumped at the chance to run it in your series. I've been practicing with the Lexus and the Gariaya (sp?) and they are very close.

Yep, each of the premium GT300 cars has it's own personality. I look for the RX7 to do well at Daytona, it has better top end speed than the others IMO.

I'll add you guys tonight if I'm able to get on so we can practice. I'm usually on every night starting around 9pm cst, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. :dopey:

I'm doing B-Spec Suzuka 1000k it should be done before then. I'll add you.

In season 9, the only race I lost was to an RX-7 at High Speed Ring. It's very fast at speed tracks.

If there's any rain races, the Subaru should absolutely demolish with a decent driver.

Speaking of that, can you publish the time/weather settings for the races that have it?

Just finished my first day with the wheel, totally understand everything you guys are saying (feeling like smashing my head off it at points). Haven't played around with settings yet but I probably will tomorrow, all in all enjoying it though and i actually feel I'm picking it up quicker than I expected.

Anyone in the GT500 class know what sort of times they are running at Daytona? Want to give myself something to shoot for.
