Okay, I've been thinking lately: "There's something missing from the GTA Forum on GTP!". Now, since noticing the Weekly Race Series, etc, for GT3, I've realised -- Our own GTA Community!

--------------
Okay, here's how it works:
We give out details about ourselves (Vice City-wise, of course!). You say whether you are going to run a gang, and people may join that gang. Also, there has to be a head of the whole thing to stay at the mansion, and he can be 'The Don'.

We are all criminals. No Cops or anything. The way it works, is, the Boss of each gang decides the rankings of each people in it. Those people ask for jobs, and depending on their ranking, determines how hard the job will be. Also, say KM (only an example) asks for a job. Naturally, you will have him run a race that you need completed, or just drive for a mission. Catch on?

'The Don' as we will call him, is determined by how many CR (Criminal Rating) points he has. You may find who 'The Don' is in the Balance section, or just asking around.

This thread is to ask for jobs, joining gangs, updating your details, requests, purchases and general storyline talk.

The community began on September 24, 2004.
--------------
Rules:
  • You can't live at the same place as someone else. You can live ANYWHERE...Yes, even non-safe houses.
  • No Mods included, so basically this is standard Vice City on PC, or just PS2. Also, keep your story realistic.
  • If you edit your details, just edit your post and post "Details Changed", and provide a link to the page with your details.
  • If you could not complete the job, or a section of the job on the first attempt, say so. Jobs can fail, and honesty is a good thing.
  • You will not receive money for failing a mission. The more you succeed, the better the jobs will become and the more money you will earn.
  • I will provide a "Balance" section, and will update it whenever someone has completed a mission. It will go in order of most to least. The Major Boss has Unlimited money. If that Boss is replaced, he will end up with $500,000.
  • You may buy assets or accessories (eg. Cars, Boats) off asset owners, houses off The Don, or various things off other people if you wish to change details. A car pricing list can be found here thanks to Blake (Eddie Enslashay).
  • People may work for your assets in any job. You can decide to pay them however much you wish per week, but they must receive at least 10% of the assets generation. You get paid 25% of that generation each month. A list of each job and it's pay can be found here.
  • The rule of owning a gang or having $50,000 or more to hand out jobs has been ruled out. You may hand out jobs, but if you price them too cheap they may be rejected as the 'Jobber' may require weaponry, ammo or other accessories to complete the mission, and that may cost money for him, so he may need cover.
  • After you complete your mission, you must give details on how you completed it, and what parts you failed at, etc.
  • The Mansion is reserved for 'The Don' is he wishes to own it.
  • If you wish to tell us about any more money you have spent from your Balance, feel free to do so for added realism. Eg, if you have bought bullets or prostitutes(Deli) and wish to have money decreased off of your Balance, then feel free to post it.
  • Missions don't have to be all about killing, racing, etc. They can simply be a tailing/surveillance mission that can go on for weeks, simply to VIP business associates around or something.
  • You may only get paid for one job.
--------------
A storyline for our community can evolve from this. This is just boredom-thing with Vice City. You may record your job via Fraps or Camcorder if you wish.

Now post your details!

(NOTE: We can do this for San Andreas if this kicks off the ground)

Just to clear up a couple of things. The major boss will be voted in between Tuesday 12:00AM (GMT) and Friday 11:59PM (GMT). The Mansion will be reserved for him. He runs the main crime in Vice City, and pays big for big missions. He can be very selective in who he chooses for missions. Other gang bosses can come to him for jobs, and then pass those jobs to members of their gang, to split profits. The Boss has practically unlimited money. So in order for each small gang boss to start up, they must get missions off the Major boss. That's why we need him. If you need money, go to him. He also owns all the assets.

To vote, simply PM me the vote between those dates.

You can find the GMT time at the bottom of the page here. Simply work it out to your time, and remember how many hours in front, or behind, it is from your time code.

Okay, I edited a few things. Added some stuff about the Major Boss in the above post, and all people start off with 1,000.

Also, to change houses, or buy a new car, you must have enough money. The houses are the same price as normal, but you will buy the cars off the Boss, or you may buy them from someone who has the car that you want. Also, if anyone wants to own Sunshine Autos, you can buy from there.

Cool, so anyone can give out jobs can't they? Just say (this is an example) I have $500 and I'm offering it to anyone who can steal me a car, they go do that, I get the car plus -$500 of my balance and they get $500 on there balance...Is this the idea...?

Yes. That's the idea. But you must own a gang to be able to hand out jobs, or be high up in the community. To be high up in the community, you must have at least $50,000. We own a gang, though, so we can hand out jobs. :D

KM will have to do a fair few jobs to get this privelage.

But anyway, come on guys, we need more people to join!

I've had an idea. I'm deleting the voting system. The way that you get to be the Major Boss in the game, is to have the highest CR (Criminal Rating). So far, the highest is KM. But if say, Spuds or T. Vercetti were to join, they would become Boss.

Do we even need a big boss, shouldn't we all start off the same-ish and just work our way into it?

Name: Shannon Edwards
Age: 42
Lives At: Pole Position, Ocean Beach

Details:
  • Grouchy, middle age, business exec bastard who needs to live at a strip club to relieve his tension from a hard day working the stock markets.
  • Owns VAJ Finace, Downtown
  • Personal body guards so the angry people who he's conned in the past don't hurt him.
  • Drives a bulletproof Sabre Turbo for the aforementioned reason.
  • Has 5 simultaneous mistresses (who all, strangely, work at Pole Position 👍)
  • Controls the pay rolls for the cops on behalf of 'The Don'.

Big boss will be determined by CR. It rewards the hard-work that the Boss has done in Vice City the game, not just the community.

Also, another thing. The boss owns all assets. You can buy the Assets off the boss at the price it costs. When you have those assets, people may buy off you. If someone wants a boat, ask the owner of the boatyard and they will set a price. Same with Sunshine Autos, etc. At the moment, you have to ask KM, as he is the Boss.

Shannon, there is no Vercetti. KM is "The Don", so you control payrolls on his behalf.

The community starts now. Anyone else may join whenever.

Edited accordingly. :)

He never said he owned it, he said he lived there. Also can people say what they think about the big boss thing, I am sort of against having one person really who controls it all.

EDIT: I read his post after he dited it but before he mentioned that he edited it.

I don't see why you're against it. There has to be a big guy. We don't have to work for him, but if we need money, he is the best person to go to. We run our own thing Blake, but he's our safety. Still, if we need something, we do a favour for him. I like the idea alot.

Yeah I realised after I posted that that if there was no-one with alot of money there's no way other people could make money, because money's only going to circulate around but you can't MAKE money.

I dunno, I still think there's a better way but w/e.

Okay. Bare with me here.

If you own an asset, you can make money weekly. Say you own the Strip Club, and it generates $4,000, you will earn $1,000 per week (this is to restrict too much money being made). Say if someone wants to work for your asset, they will earn 10% of the money that generates from that asset. So in this case, it would be $400.

Now, their pay comes out of your total balance, but if you're making money, you can't lose!

Catch?

How do we own assets? We have to earn enough money to pay for the real price of the asset (or how ever much whoever owns it is willing to sell for) by working for "The Don" or anyone else. Or will we all get more cash so say, a million dollars is floating around being exchanged between hands?

I'll give The Don Unlimited money. That way, everyone has to work for him to start with, and to get their gang off the ground or whatever they want to do with the money. Everyone else now starts off with $5,000.

Seeing that the community has started, KM, how much for a Marquis at Cortez' old docks? Just need a quote so I can work towards it.

Because There will be alot of confusion about prices of car/boats/helicopter etc. I've taken the liberty of typing up the price of every car/boat/heli in the game. This information IS accurate as it comes from the handling.cfg file in the game.

Updated some rules, and cancelled out a rule (it has been mentioned). You may not own the main assets unless you buy it (these areall of the ones you can buy on the game).

Thank you Blake, I forgot about those. I was looking through the GTA III ones the other night. Btw, our business generates $1,000 a month I've decided. So we get $250 a week. :( ... The first week starts Sunday. We get our first pay the following Sunday. Same goes with everyone else.

NOTE: If anyone wants to make a list of how much each asset/business brings the Boss and Employees weekly, that would be great. Remember, the Boss gets 25% of the generation value each week, and the Employee gets 10%.

Hmmm. If I'm The Don, I'm gonna have to change my profile accordingly.

Can't be living in Apartment 3C if I'm the Kingpin of VC.
