I have to say a lot of the charm of GT4 and GT5 was buying a car from the UCD and tuning it up, for the most part not having much of a choice in what you end up racing with. Whilst its removal did remove the frustration of trying to get that one rare car that just won't turn up in the used car lot, it also made progression feel a lot less interesting imo. They could've even had the UCD and the full regular dealership at the same time to at least give players the option of getting a big discount on a random car or paying full price for the exact car they want.

From a pure gameplay perspective it's the best in the franchise, with the best and the most of just about everything, but it's really also the most generic with very few unique features that stand out from any other similar racing game. It gets a C from me.

Gran Turismo 6 was surely an improvement over Gran Turismo 5. However, while I felt GT5 could have been much more, Gran Turismo 6 wasn't too impressive. I'd say GT6 is perhaps the most accessible GT ever. Never before have I accomplished the All-Gold feat across all License Tests. Only once have I accomplished All-Gold for one series of tests, and that was in Tourist Trophy. Tourist Trophy remains my only All-Silver accomplishment in any GT or TT. Gran Turismo 6 is still a game I'd recommend for any racing fan, let alone any fan of the Gran Turismo series. Regardless of what Gran Turismo Sport brings or what GT Sport ends up being, the classic GT titles will not fade from memory any time soon for anyone.

Least favourite GT game. Why?

  • Stockyard!!!! My most hated feature.
  • Used Dealership gone (no more rare cars).
  • Career mode was boring. Was nothing to it. Just generic races set together.
  • Top gear test track from GT5 dissapeared
  • Install time was a pain
  • 500 car garage limit (for a game with 1200+ cars that's shocking in this day n' age)
But it also had some advantages. Such as:
  • More premium cars in GT6 than GT5/ also semi-premium cars
  • More track variety
  • Bigger credit limit
  • Most cars in any GT game (as of now)
  • Fast loading times compared to GT5
Overall, it's my least liked GT title. There's no atmosphere to it, like there was for GT5. But it's still a decent game. I've had it since release & have never sold it. (I have referred to GT5 since it's also on PS3 & it's the most similar in the GT games in terms of physics, sounds & car list).
