What is the Academy ?

A weekly returning event in which we allow division 3-4-5 drivers based upon the known online weekly racing events. The purpose of these academy series is to develop lower division drivers and help them to be able to enjoy their races even more. These events will be followed by our division 1&2 drivers and if wanted, tips and advice will be offered by them. It gives lower seated drivers an option to race in a closer field, what would make them better prepared in the other 3D3 racing events.

Experienced members (div 1-2) would be welcome in this thread aswell, as they could function as 'instructors', giving tips to new drivers or follow their development.

When will these races take place ?

Depending on the interest of EU/NA drivers we will organize these events on Fridays or Saturdays; if enough interest we will run an EU race and a NA race.

In case non of the timeslots mentioned in the poll suit you, please just post in the thread which timeslot would be suitable for you. If a lot of people mention the same other suitable time, maybe we could work something out.

I want to join but I am not a WRS member ?

This WRS-Online event hosted by 3D3 Racing is open to GTP_Registered members only. If you are not currently on the registry run the GTP_Registry qualifier and join now!

Race Format

The races would be shorter then the ‘Wednesday-race’. 20-25 minute races would be normal depending on the car and track. Tuning would be prohibited to make sure everyone has an equal car. For some events we will use an easier tyre type as chosen in the original event.

Dean and Koikeeper, please make a vote in the poll on which timeslot(s) would suit you best for this. 👍

Great idea, I would to help out as an instructor.

Well, mornings GMT suits me the best, but I think I can manage afternoon GMT (before 6pm) as well.

If there is more interest for the same time slot, we will definitly have races morning GMT....

Count me in. Always looking for ways to improve and besides, it gets pretty lonely running practice laps till the wee hours of the morning all by yourself, lol.

I could be interested. How strict will the entries likely to be? Might only be able to sign up just before it starts. Wouldn't be able to commit to it.
Am looking to get back into GT5 RACING and not online bumper cars:grumpy:

Jumpin in last moment would be no problem, these series will be run like in the WRS events. We will also make sure academy races will be organised at different time slots, even multiple on the same day, so keep watchin this thread for further info.

The main thing will be gathering more experience, winning would be awsome, but it is not what we are aiming at, we want people to get used to fast bumper to bumper racing, and give them the opportunity to inform with better skilled drivers on things they want to improve. We will also give the time to learn on track with better skilled drivers before we start racing.

If you want more info or have certain questions, feel free to ask them.

Great idea and the racingdays Friday and Saturday suits me well.

I like the format, perfect for stepping into the world of online racing for those who have done little/no races yet.

Will surely stop by and participate in the races to help or to learn from the toprunners.

vote Saturdays 21:00 GMT, this will be my first WRS Academy Event.

Do not forget to register as shown in the OP above :

Well said, cause face it Sjaak, you're more of a D2 driver anyway. I know I had some great battles with you in the past. :)
I'm up for it as always. Hopefully it will encourage new guys to join us online, it's loads of fun.
It sure is! :)
I might be interested, we'll see!
Hopefully we'll see you there. 👍

Great initiative Chris 👍

No vote from me because my time slot would be daily from around 2300 gmt.

As I seem to be married to my Div4 status some education would be more than welcome :dopey:

I'm definately interested in this, have never been able to improve and I've done far more racing then I have hot lapping so I'd fancy a go.

I am sure some races will overlap your time slot, meaning you would be able to join later.... As long as there is interest, I am able to keep open the room.

Just to add a second point to my post, I'm not real good with other cars on the track unless we are only turning left, lol. Might wanna put me in the lowest division there is for this, lol.

Making clean passes is integrated in the process so don't worry.
