Ouch, why don't you try switching the accel/brake to the shoulder buttons and the gear shifts to the face buttons? So your thumb doesn't have to hold on the button for long. It might take a while to get used to, but at least you won't have to put much stress on the broken nail.

I don't really know how a broken fingernail feels like, but somehow I can imagine it to be really painful.

I've tried using the same method I was using but I need to completely move my finger up and down so I can press the buttons. I guess it's gonna be healed completely in about 2 weeks, as I've suffered from it before. Would you be kind enough to post your setup:bowdown: ?

Oh, I see, well I hope that heals sooner though, I can tell it's not easy to have a finger hurting.

As for the setup, I haven't really done anything big yet, the 45.2 for the Tofu Trueno was done on just:

Camber 1.0/1.0
Toe 0.00/0.00

I'm actually nervous about touching the S-D, since the Dampers are already set on 7, which is just 1 short of how race cars are set up.

The FC could probably work on a same setup, though S-D tuning is needed to make the car a little more stable. I actually find driving the FC more comfortable than the 86, it's got kind of a milder feel, but it won't be faster than the Toyota.

I'm gonna try running the FC tonight and see if I could make a set up for it. 👍

I dropped my damper settings (both cars were in the 6 or 7 range) down to a 2 and found that I maintained more grip over elevation changes. It makes the car feel a bit more like a boat in water, but I have less instances of my back end sliding out from underneath me.

1'47.1xx with the RX-7

1'46.6xx with the AE86

FR Cars
Height: -15/-15
Springs: 4/4
Dampers: (4)/(4)
Toe: 0.00/0.00
Camber: (1.0)/(1.0)

I did a lap with the FC using a modified version of my usual FR setup and got a 1'45.656 time. Running against the 1'45.2 ghost of the 86, I noticed the FC can run the first section leading up to the tunnel faster and more stable than the 86, but gets left behind at the banking left.

hey guys,
all week I was driving Mazda RX7 GT-X '90 - non-japanese version -,-
(still steering wheel on the right side though...)
Are those the same cars - acceptable in this weeks challenge? ;>

I remember the V35 and G35 having the steering position different, but practically the same, and in this case, with both cars having the same power and weight (204hp/1250kg) I think you can use it.

It'll be better to have Dbb confirm first, but I really think you can use it. After all, the only other version to be different in specifications from the GT-X(J) is the GT-Limited, which also comes in a J and non-J version.

I had fun during this challenge! I love the track and I had never driven this particular version of the Mazda RX-7. And the S1 tires offered a new challenge for me as I have only used them a couple of times before. All in all, it was a great week!

'Thank You', red ice!

Please post them early.

The 'extensions' I grant are supposed to be for emergencies only - we don't want to make a habit of late submissions!

👍

OK, then... ;/
but I will try to improve my times (with trueno at least) and if I make better,
could I update them late tomorrow?

still? O.o

and red could U explain me what injury did U get lately ? ;o

yep! all week and I can't beat my 1'48.xxx 1'49.xxx times. I'm having a hard time racing for more than 1-1 1/2 hrs. Doc says don't stress too much but its alright if I don't feel dizzy.

Just a short description of what I had last April 14.
MINOR STROKE at the LEFT Brain. Apparently MRI results showed a small blood clot led to a minor stroke affecting inability to speak and convey my thoughts even through pen and paper.
I'm at the office, I remember vividly, it was 2:00 pm, when suddenly I can't move my right arm for almost 1 minute. I didn't notice it at first (past 3pm) when my boss came to my desk to make some revisions. Then I can't understand his words, i can hear him but I feel like its a different language. So I started to speak. My god. I can't speak even a normal single word! took me 15minutes and I gave up speaking.
I realized it was not right that I can normally do all the things except for speaking. Then 5pm , after going home, I decided to check in the Emergency Room. One by one, I'm failing to hit the button on my cellphones, hitting the door, slow reflexes and ultimately...one by one I'm forgetting names. After 2 hours I completely lost my name. Even with pen and paper... I cannot write my first name except for the 1st 3 letter (and most of the time its spelled incorrect).
I'm working abroad and this was the first time I cried. Its because I can't convey my feelings. Panic. Confusion. and most importantly...concern for my wife and daughter.
After 12 hrs, the doctor told me I am having a stroke. Brain attack.
After 3 days, a started remember my full name.
after 5 days, I can write my full name without any mistakes.
after 7 days, I can write the most important names in my life.
Doctor says I need to recover and speak more often and practice basic words.
....
He says...If I was 2-3 hours too late, 50/50 chance that might continue to a FULL BLOWN STROKE. Either I'm dead or Brain dead at the ICU.
Well, that's it. haahahaha!! Doc says I can work next week and do normal day to day activities.
....
+++PREVIOUS MEDICAL BACKGROUND+++
3 yrs ago, I had condition called CARDIOMEGALLY, meaning I have a big heart. It may be because of the sports activities since High School until now.
and because of smoking since 2000 to 2010. I quit. 2 yrs ago and still my heart beat is erratic.
....
LESSON: STOP SMOKING NOW and KNOW TO WHEN CALL FOR HELP.

Really happy to see you're recovering sir Red. The way you've been when it all started compared to how you are now is really impressive.

You are a tough man, it's actually nice to see someone work so hard to recover from stroke. I know how it looks because my grandmother suffered a stroke 4 years ago and even until now, has trouble walking on her own.

:gtpflag: Jamming session tayo sir Red! :gtpflag:

OH MY GOD! that is so terrible. I'm very sorry to hear that. ;O

and u still compete here like nothing happend?! O.o
so much respect for u.
👍

P.S.
You're still better than me.... ;)

My best wishes for your further health red ice!

thanks! I'm striving hard to be good as new. Its funny I've never thought I'd be dealing with a stroke as early 32yrs. Usually, with older people this is normal.
I have a video in my channel (my stroke 011 & 012) which acts as my message to my wife and daughter and all relatives & friends. I know Antares understands our language but, unfortunately It's even harder to speak straight both in Filipino and English.
My actual goal is to convey that message to everybody. :)
And Yes!! I'd love to jam with you after I get back home.

OH MY GOD! that is so terrible. I'm very sorry to hear that. ;O

To be honest, 1 week at the hospital is so damn boring. I can walk 20 paces from end to end but I wasn't allowed to walk along the corridors(for safety reasons). Calling my loved ones makes me feel happy although using other features in a typical cellphone like gaming/browsing/youtube/even dialing credit recharge password combinations is like HELL!! 30 minutes/a day is a maximum I can do at GTPSP.
I have no relatives here but what I value most was my officemates and friends who came to visit me every afternoon. I'm thankful for all the support.
I love being a patient and being treated as the number 1 person in that room, but unable to speak sucks!
LOL.
But my utmost respect to all there, doctors, nurses, lab technicians, specialists, etc... even the janitors.
and yes...
Of course, we have got to live and get on with it. Carry on with our lives and make better decisions.
And as a fellow WTACer, I too respect each of you here. I'm glad I'm a small part of GTPSP forums and GTPlanet as a whole.

With me being new to the prospect of using S1 tires, this challenge was both exciting and difficult. Exciting because of the Initial D theme plus the Trial Mountain circuit, which I adore ever since GT2. Difficult because both cars, especially the Tofu-sha is very sensitive with the S1 tires, it took me multiple tuning tests to get the handling feel that I liked. Anyway...

Toyota SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX (AE86 Shuichi Shigeno Version) '00 ~ 1'44.750
snap022.jpg

This high-revving monster needed high-revving concentration too, one wrong move with this car will send you into a spin. This car is fast though, I think with S3 or even R1 tires, this car can easily clock a time in the high 46.

Mazda RX-7 GT-X (FC, J) '90 ~ 1'44.939
snap021.jpg

Now I had my doubts about this car being able to run at the same pace as the 86 early this week, but as I continued to drive it, I was proved wrong. This car may be underpowered, but it is far more stable through all corners than the 86. Seriously, I clocked that time in half the time I did the fastest lap of the Trueno, the car's that easy to drive.

Overall Combined Time: 3'29.689

I'm not sure if I can call my times good enough, but still, I'm happy just to get both cars in the 1'44 range, and break the 3'30 barrier overall. 👍

Takin the photos for my submission now.

Mazda RX-7 GT-X (FC,J) '90 : 1'45.152

Still can't believe how I managed a better time with the Mazda. Both times were done on stock, and with manual, after having tried it for the latest laps!

Sorry to hear that you're in such trouble Mr. Red... I wish you full recovery as soon as possible. Unfortunately i cannot post my times this week... i was unable to run even a single lap this week... I've been quite busy (you know - work, girlfriend, etc.) but our family has some health issue too... My grandma was diagnosed stomach cancer in last stadium month ago and doctors cannot do anything with it... Now i'm trying to support my father as much as i can when he takes home care of his mother which slowly loses her fight.

I know it's a bit late, but anyway...

:gtpflag: WELCOME TO THE WTAC sidtiroler :gtpflag:

I hope to see you more in the future weeks of the WTAC, we always love more competition here, seeing as the game is old now and the series isn't as active as it was in its early years. 👍

I don't know how, but I just made a way faster time with the FC. I tried running it again today just for fun and ended up with a 1'44.725 time. I'll be recording that instead of the .939 I submitted. 👍👍

Thank you for all your friendly welcome messages! :D

At the moment there is no possibility for me to change to GT5 ( no PS3 yet :-/ ) so if I'm active here in a time attack challenge it must be GT PSP. ;)

Welcome, sidtiroler!

:)

I'll have all the time calculated and posted tomorrow. I was unavailable yesterday and I only have about five minutes today to be on here, so tomorrow will be the day.

Sorry about that, WTACers!
