Ok... first of all, let me congratulate Lion-Face on a nice win this week with a combined time of 3'33.197. I also want to offer a round of applause for sausages, Fuchur, and Sylar. Those four competitors were the only ones to run clean laps. Everybody else (myself included) had one lap where we slightly grazed a wall and caused a spark to appear. There was also one instance of all four tires being up on multiple curbs/rumble strips. None of the infractions were, in my mind, a case of someone deliberately trying to cheat - I want to make that very clear. It was simply a matter of us (again, myself included) not watching our replays closely enough on a tight course. In my case, I had a single spark occur when I got too close to the wall (along side Central Park) just before all those tight, 90-degree turns start. Most every case was similar nature.
So, now where does that leave us? Obviously the four people will get their points and that's pretty easy to figure out. As for the rest of us that competed, but had one bad lap, what would be best? The typical answer would be to simply disqualify us and we'd receive no points. But that would mean that those that did this challenge all week would be in the same position as those that didn't even compete in this week's event. Should we then give everyone that was a part of this challenge, but had a bad lap, a single point for participating? I would like for the four winners this week (Lion-Face, Sylar, sausages, and Fuchur) to PM me and let me know what we should do. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can update the leaderboard!
