GTP WTAC Week 43 : Est. 1886​

*** It all started in 1886 when Karl Benz created the Benz Patent Motorwagen. Since then, the German company known as Mercedes-Benz (first sold as a brand in 1926) has continued on path than never strays too far from performance vehicles. The modern-day SLR McLaren is a perfect example to show Mercedes-Benz's continued allegiance to cars that go fast. In 1954, Mercedez-Benz released the iconic 300 SL Coupe most noted for it's gullwing doors. ***




1. Track : Autumn Ring (reverse)

2. Cars : Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren '03 & Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe '54

IMPORTANT ! This is a combined times challenge: you'll need to run both cars; rankings will be made based on your combined times.

3. Cars specifics:

- Transmission: either
- Tires: S3 / S3
- TCS : at your disposal
- ASM : off
- Active Steering : off
- Driving Physics : Professional

All in-game quick-tune options are at your disposal (Press Triangle when selecting your car to add the car to your favorites and tinker with any available settings).

Hybrid cars, the use of CFW tuning or any other way of cheating (such as the Action Replay for PSP) is forbidden...

4. Duration of the challenges : this challenge will start Monday March 14th 4:00 pm GMT+2 and will end Monday March 21st 3:59 pm GMT+2 (one week !)

5. Time submission :

You'll have to post your Ghost Replay Data + Photo before Monday March 21st 3:59 pm GMT+2. If you miss the deadline, your laptimes won't be in the website.

6. Rules :

You'll have to follow the Host and Compete in a GT Planet Time Attack Challenge (GTPTAC) You'll have to follow the Host and Compete in a GT Planet Time Attack Challenge (GTPTAC) ! Just to remind you :
Clean or Dirty lap :
- Colliding with or using walls, fences, cones or other obstacle is forbidden. All times submitted must be 100% wall free.
- Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the tarmac which does not include all green/grassed/sanded/graveled areas.
- NO SPARKS! (this does not include 'bottoming' the car out on the tarmac or rumble strips; but does include walls/barriers)
Rumble/ripple strips :
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's inside rumble strips and two off track is considered unclean
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's outside rumble strips and two off track is considered clean.

I'm not a huge fan of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren '03 but she's got a personality ! And the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe '54 was a great surprise so I hope you'll like both cars !

I know what you mean, my very first TAC challenge was with the SLR on Suzuka and ever since then I've had a kind of a dislike for it. But I don't hate it!

I did three test laps with each car last night. For the SLR, I was able to achieve a clean 1'24.8xx. For the 300 SL (which I love), I currently have a clean 1'36.1xx.

It's my first time with the 300 SL and I gotta say I really like it, nice and loose on the back wheels and very responsive steering. They sure don't make 'em like they use to.

First session today and these are the results:

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe '54: 1'34.822

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren '03: 1'22.704

Bot cars stock, but there's still room for improvement even without tunning but I think I'm going to focus on the 300 SL first, I'm very curious to see the potential of this classic car.

I can see were I can improve my time but can't see where -how- I can be 1 second faster though !

I got about half a million buckozoids and I want to buy the toyotas for the next event. However, when I cycled through the dealer and got to toyota they did not have the two cars for the next race, Where can I get those two cars?

Been playing for about 6months and wanna join you guys for the time TAC..i see this week is almost done, i will run both cars tonight just for interest and then join you guys on the next one..

bit of a noob question but is the next one week 44 -with the two celica's?

thanx all and looking forward to it..(although most of the track times ive seen is way better than what i get i only started playing on pro physics 2 weeks ago when i tried the week 39 TAC just to see how my times compare ) nonetheless i love the game!

Don't worry about pro physics, you'll get used to it very quickly and once you're there, very hard to go back to standard physics !
