Submitted my times last night..... Am a WRS noobie so I am anxious enough to see how I stack up compared to other members...... Looking forward to the series though....

Just a question for the senior WRS players.
How long does it really take to starts seeing really quick times?
Im new to competive online driving and im commoted to getting better but im assuming its going to take many hours to starts seeing the results.

Well I've done WRS for two years and I'm not any quicker now than when I started.:dopey:

I did 10 weeks of GT5P WRS and I'd say that whilst I was improving all the time, so were the other guys around me, so it's really hard to judge. It didn't feel like I was making a whole lot of progress, but I know I have gotten a buit quicker, maybe 0.5-1 secs depending on circuit/car etc.

But you can't expect to just magically go faster overnight. It takes a lot of hours - nay, weeks, not just practicing, but also studying replays of your own, and of others, to see where time can be found. Be prepared to invest a lot of time and effort, and you will eventually see the rewards - Maz (Synwraith) progress up to Div 1 is one of many testaments to this IMO.

I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I got sick (with fever and everything) before I could have a go at the second part (sector III). Is there anyway to qualify later (guess not) or can I just take a slow time for that sector (i.e. the bronze time) and see where that puts me? I'm really eager to participate and don't want to lose this opportunity to a stupid sickness. I might try to do a time with the pad if I feel a little better later, but the wheel is absolutely out of the question.

Your promotion from D2 silver to D2 gold doesn't quite support your usual pessimism

All the best
Maz

Yeah well, that was more a reward for my many years of service rather than any increase in pace. :D

"Really Quick Times" may not ever happen for you, relative to our top drivers. But if you participate with some consistency, the WRS should stretch you from your comfort zone, and help you improve your skills. Tips from faster drivers, watching their replays after the results, and just the seat time alone will help you improve your own skills.

Ans PLEASE, go find a spell check for your browser. If it doesn't have one available, go get one that does. I would recommend Firefox. Mine is picking up on every one of your spelling and grammar errors as I quote you, you'll just need to right click on them and accept the suggestion.

The qualifier is re-opening (this same qualifier is likely according to one of the mods earlier in the thread) in March time.

submitted...

although i havent raced last 2 weeks i didnt improved my time since the last session. This represents my level so far.
Lets see where this puts me

still trying to register but not able to PM What do I need to do? :nervous:

Now that you've posted, and that post has been approved, you should be able to send me a PM with your submission. 👍

(sigh) Time flies and, according to Maz, I'm a procrastinator. So deadline reached and I didn't do one single run of this ... :indiff:

I think I'll do it tonight and send whatever I got after a few decent tries between 10 PM and Midnight. Don't feel right using the GTP tag without actually being in the Registry, and I never used / don't want to use in the future another PSN ID for my racing.

Ditto CT - submitted here as well - best times were set back on 1/13 and I never tried again - put in about 4.5 hours on Sector 2 and 3.5 hours on Sector 3 which is way more than I wanted to - curse those admins for choosing something so addictive for a qualifier. :)

I was surprised at the amount of grip the car has - the original GT5:P quali was an exercise in patience thanks to an F430 on street tires at Suzuka. :nervous:

Also, I found it funny in the actual Qualifier post where Kev refers to Big Ben striking at midnight - for a moment I thought they had rescheduled the SuperBowl to tonight!

Good Luck Everyone!

Hey people i'm new to this can't wait to start the first event and meet some good racer's all my friend's are not skilled enough so need a good challenge. When will we know the results for the division's?

Submitted also... nothing out of this world but happy to work from the bottom up if need be! some good old fashioned clean policed TT racing is long overdue

Good luck to all taking part 👍

I wasn't going to submit anything because of the faulty wheel story many of you know about... :guilty:

But the not submitting and having to wait untill March started haunting me and made me completaly restless... :nervous::nervous:

But today a great mate(also a member here...) talked me into submitting anyways, even though i am taking the risk of ending up in a division lower than i usually am capable of. :ill:

So i spend 2 hours today (1 hour per sector) to get everything out of my wheel possible...this whas very difficult because i had to exit the event every 5 minutes to go and run a practice run on sport tires to get my wheel back into shape!!..

Don't ask me how this is possible, but after i run a few laps with a slow car on sports ,my wheel gets a bit better and so i could run several sessions of the qualifier...

I have absolutaly no idea what my times will bring me,mainly because of the very little info i get from my wheels ffb ,so wether or not i will deeply regret submitting today well...i just have to wait and see.... :scared:

Anyway,i do feel a lot better now having submitted and want to thank the person very much to push me over the line into doing so... 👍👍👍

Hoping to a happy end to all of this... :)

After much cursing at myself and these bumpy Nurb roads, I finally submitted.

I'm new to the WRS, but was unofficially doing some of the GT5P-era races to see how I'd compare. Looking forward to the fun!

Thanks much to the Admins for all the work this must take, and for picking a qualifier that was both fun and stressful combined!

Well I was just going to boot up my ps3 to put in a couple of final runs before submitting and received a YLOD.... Don't have the money to fix it right now, so it might be a while before you guys see me online.

Now you tell me! I would've put in 8 hours a day for the entire event if I thought for one minute I had a chance to actually enter the registry ahead of you. That would have been it for me - I could've retired after this a very happy man and bragged about it for the rest of my life! Watch, I'm betting you still end up at least a few Div/Medals above me. :)

Done, found 1 second in sector 2 after 5 laps, and half a second in sector 3 after 5 (clean laps). I had about 10 laps where I just fell off the carrousel. And that last corner in sector 2, I don't think I'll ever get it right.

I'm a newbie and I can't PM the super moderator, does anybody know how can I do it? Do I have to "click" somewhere? :P

Thanks for your help guys

Hi GTP_Mogadouro,

Now that you've posted, and your post has been approved, you should be able to send your PM to me.

Just submitted. Not too optimistic about my division placement, but know that wherever I end up I can improve through the WRS.

Also submitted.

Didn't squeeze those last tenths out but achieved my goal 👍

Good luck all and we'll do our best to have the Registry ready to be published as quickly as possible :sly:
