Don't really see where you guys are getting so much more time from.

If it can be of any help, here is one of my t1, you can notice on first corner and later i make it oversteer on downshift and shift up quickly and try to accelerate (not full throttle) slightly over grip limit.

the tricky part is at the ''S'' section, you need the right angle, speed and line, it is better to stay in 4th gear there it keep more speed :)

in first corner i was turning slightly too soon, it shouldnt touch the inside curb, i ended too far outside because of that :)

i included the 1st corner of t2, even though it was not the best entry i did you can shave some time by getting a wheel on the grass, the tricky part is the timing to get it to slide at the right moment :).

sorry for bad quality i tried to hide the laptime

hope that help a bit. :)

this t1 is 44,075

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the video and tips. Looks like you're way more confident than I am on this track (and most others), but I also noticed that you were on the cobbles in one corners, so I read the op and found that I can probably be quite a bit more aggressive than I have been. I'll try again tomorrow, thanks again.

No problem Baron! :)
yeah you can shave a good amount of time in that ''S''section in t1 using all the track you can. 👍

i have like 120000km done on the ring since i have gt5 wich help a lot :scared::lol:

You fly away 2 seconds during the night..... this is crazy, where are you shaving all this time. I was waiting for this, it happen all the time we drive the ring together, but i'm still impressed. I'll try to shave 1/2 second tomorrow, it'll be hard.

:cheers::bowdown:

start to be comfortable with dfgt, but I miss the G25 xDDD

Had a run last night for 40 minutes and was going well, but ultimately dropped a 5'37 lap at the double right at Pflanzgarten. Got up early this morning for another 20 minutes before work...and did exactly the same thing again :banghead: Good news is that the pace is there, just need to convert it into a complete lap.

Race on

Firat splits. Still room for improvement. BB at 5/6.

a question to the this WRS has full turn? because we have seen that only 9 sectors

If your question is whether to do the whole lap, then yes :) but you only post nine splits to keep the rest a mystery for the deadline.

Meanwhile I tried this and man I'm slow, only have one clean lap at the moment from a total of two complete laps and quite a bit restarts I can see about 6 seconds in various places in the lap but lack of time this week will make it difficult, so I'm electing to just enjoy the ring with no pressure :) I'm not very good hear anyway. That's all my excuses out of the way

Yes, like manu said, we post the first splits, in this case its 9 splits, and for the deadline you send your total laptime by PM to fetchy, like described in the original post :)

and the board will update with the final time at the deadline :)

edit: Thx Laurent! your time is very good too i had a hard time improving it at first 👍

okay, so what really counts is the full turn and put this sector is just to see how fast everyone goes, right?

sorry for my English, but sometimes use translator for no confusion because I I understand to reading it, but to write would be a bit similar to a tarzan dialog hahaa

Yes exactly, the splits just give an idea where everyone is, and everything can happen in the last splits, wich is the most exciting part! hehe :)

managed a few laps tonight, some nice improvements over the session, this was the only clean lap I managed tonight, messed up the final chicane big time though, but still a slight improvement at the line. Here are the splits:

44.545
33.869
28.175
51.261
38.215
25.827
50.664

I'm afraid I have to drop out this week.
The car is a joy to drive, but I couldn't find a clean lap.

still on brake bias 5/6 :)

I'm done with this event. Already post my time to WRSfetchbot. Not enough time to drive, only 300 km on this one, lot of job to do in real life.....
It was a very good ride, my brake balance was 5/5 for this time but i like too a 6/7...
Anyway i think i've reached my limit, or very close to it. I did this in a very clean lap, using mostly the asphalt and just a very few grass sometime.

Just one question, we have 9 splits posted to WRSfetchbot and the final laptime when you close. What about the last 2 splits 10 and 11 ??? How will it be calculated?? Average???

Thanks and good luck everybody for the rest of the event.

For the ring it's just a total of the remaining splits that will be calculated from the total time so no need to worry about it.

I think I'm gonna pull out too, only two laps done and those were laps for just a feel for the track so it was mostly at 70% effort. Good luck everyone 👍

Finally a clean lap at decent pace. No major errors apart from running wide in the last corner, otherwise any improvement now is just going to be about optimizing line and braking points whilst minimizing wheelspin. Scruffy in a few places, but laps around here are like that aren't they?

The other thing that is common to all my laps here is that the further on the lap goes the worse I get due to the number of resets - first sector probably gets driven 30x more than the last sector.

The above represented a 4+ second improvement at the line. Realistically, there's probably less than 2 seconds to find, but there will be an element of luck involved in doing so...as well as some sweaty palms and a stiff neck

Race on

We never really have an official representation of the final sector.

We use T9 for a couple of reasons, but mainly since it more effectively masks final time, since there are a couple of difficult sections remaining after it. Using T11 on the main straight is nearly pointless, it just about telegraphs the time for you.

Your final time is what matters, and if we do any "unofficial" post calculation of sectors, it would show your time of T10 and 11 combined.

Finally found a decent clean lap

just a note to everyone, check your oil status regularly. Due to the length of track and the speed at which you do the lap you soon clock up the miles, just had my second oil change of the evening and its only been just over 1 hour!

Anyway, again some great improvements overall, but lost .750 through T2-T4 and .7 through T8+9 on this lap and still plenty more time to gain.

oh and MJ, don't give up hope! A trick I found to getting a nice rhythm going around the ring is to be less aggressive. A lot of corners have a steep camber, if you overshoot under braking you lose so much time because you just understeer off! If you brake just a tiny bit earlier than usual, you guarantee you make the apex, allowing you to get the car turned and back on the power earlier. :) slow and steady

once you've got a good rhythm, you can then start pushing a bit more as you will know the corners you are 'coasting' more at than others

@ Mike

just looked at the leaderboards and how on earth did you get that T2 time! amazing. You still using the 'grass trick' at Flugplatz?

Nice lap Caine - not sure what I have to answer that other than perfect splits (for me) and a large dose of luck. Will have fun trying though!

thx! :) yes im using the grass there and on exit as well sometimes if needed.
the best is to get the car to slide off throttle before apex and not at the apex on throttle, this way you get on throttle sooner without sliding and its easier to take the rest of the curve.

Jeebus that was tough! I must apologize in advance if this ends up being the lap I submit. It will make you hork having to watch it... it is fugly! :embarrassed:

Out of curiosity, does it still count as clean if the rears are on and the fronts are off? Had another that I stuffed because I wasn't precisely sure.

I would say yes, two wheels are two wheels, it doesn't say they both have to be on the same side of the car. But a steward should confirm this.

1.4s at the line, but I know I can be at least 2.5s faster still...
