Ford Mark IV Race Car '67

Start saving up now, guys. We will be using a $20mil car for Week 133, the Ford Mark IV Race Car '67.

It will be a stock combo, so if you've added un-removable parts like Chassis Rigidity or Engine Stages, you'll need a new one.

We will put a car up on share, via GTP_3D3Racing (for registered online racers) and GTP_3D3_C (for others), and can also distribute '67 tickets for you to try to 'cycle'.

Check your B-spec "bank" too.

Post to this thread to request a '67 ticket and/or share advice for obtaining the car.

How to cycle a ticket:
  1. Receive Ticket: After you receive the Ticket, save your game and then exit game.
  2. Backup Game Save: Go to saved Data Utility and select your game save and hit triangle. Select Copy and copy it to a USB Stick.
  3. Use Ticket(s): Start up game and then open 1967 Ticket(s).
  4. Success?: If you get the Ford Mark IV congratulations, you can pass go and collect $200.
  5. Failure?: If you get one of the other year 1967 cars (there are 10 so you likely will), quit game and then copy the backup game save from your USB Drive over the game save ( in Saved Data Utility). This will restore your game save to one that still has the 1967 Ticket. Go back to Step 3 and repeat until you achieve your goal.

Note: if you start this process with a few '67 tickets and redeem them all during step 3 you multiply your chances of success.

That's great! 👍 looking forward to this one!

My guess that it will be around the old La Sarthe

Note also this classic car will be used for the 2nd anniversary weekly online race. 3D3 Racing turns 2 years old on Sept 11th. :dopey:

Hehe, just what I bought two weeks ago :)

PS. Will the winner get that fetching good looking button? :D

There's a much easier way to cycle through the tickets:
  1. Click the car delivery truck and hit Square to redeem all tickets
  2. If Ford = Success
  3. If no Ford = restart game.

If Ford doesn't show up, you have to restart the game right then and there. If you accept the car it gives you, autosave will take over and you'll need a new ticket.

No, but if you send us a picture of yourself we can photoshop the button right in the photo. :sly:

A virtual prize for a virtual race.

Hmm... yeah, that works if you don't have too many other tickets in the van AND you don't mind redeeming all of them at the same time. I have about 120 tickets right now, so it would take forever... :)

EDIT: As far as I can tell, chassis reinforcement is actually the ONLY irreversible change you can make to that car, is that right?

I could use one of those tickets. I might even be able to figure out how to use it if I could get one.

Ron, I can send you a level 20 ticket. Just send an FR to GTP_AspecBob and I'll send you one tomorrow when I get up, around 11am or noon... (hey, it's Sunday!)

Sent you a 1967 ticket... if Daniel sends you the LVL 20 you can double down and double your odds of getting the desired car each "cycle".

Thanks guys. Got the ticket, saved and sent it back. ill send friend request tomorrow. Got to get some sleep now!

I'm in for this. Have 15.1m at the mo, shouldn't take long to get to the mark. Ill have to check my current car, when we did the enduro - were parts added to the Ford? I used the xj13 and barely ran the ford, maybe only 30 miles on it and not much alteration. Could I use it if it hasn't got engine or chassis added?

Matt

Just sent you the ticket, Ron. There's no need to send it back, I duped it. Good luck 👍

Thanks guys. It was a tough choice. To choose the Mark IV when it was paired with a Honda, or wait until it was paried with the Ferrari 330 P4. Ultimately, I had to hold out until both cars showed up together.
Thanks a million guys.

Thanks a $20 million guys.

Fixed that for you. :sly:

Have just spent an hour cycling through for the Mark IV for myself during Gangs Of New York, such a good film! I can send the 1967 ticket daily for anyone that wants it, just give me a shout.

On closer inspection, you are correct. I'm not sure why turbo's would be applicable to an old V8 rather than natural aspiration engine stages, but OK. :odd:
"Just say no" to the chassis reinforcement. :P

If anyone wants to do this the easier way, FR my GTP account and I'll run some B-Spec while I'm not playing. Probably best if you only need a few million to reach the magic 20, given the time frame.

EDIT: well it seems my widget has given up the ghost, but I am running some b-spec remote races when I can anyway. Toss an invite if you would like me to run a few for you.

You can win 20 million credits in less than one hour doing this, or 10 millions in less than 30 minutes, simple maths. :D

Thanks for the tip eclipsee. :)

Even with 150% and reduced motor of 70% it pays out 1.1 mio per race.
So in two days with 200% its half an hour work to go.
