Grrr... must have exited the game while still in practice mode last night... there was still 0 km on the car when I turned it back on :grumpy:

On top of that, I can't seem to have as good a control of the car tonight as I did yesterday. It's not so much the lack of grip as the "unexpected" weight shifts that totally unbalance the car (but maybe that's related to lower grip, anyway, somehow?). It's especially bad in that slalom part before T1. A sector 1 video would be very welcome, I think. *Whistles while subtly looking sideways*

While you wait, I found this on Chris' youtube channel, first place I look to try and figure out how to attck a course. The video is Autumn Ring in an Elise, so car is faster, but the lines are probably the same. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COnEPR1QZHQ

Throttle control is very important, as is line.

You will give a little up on the exit of turn 1 to get the car all the way back to the right to set up for the rest of the complex. You want to minimize wheel input and do most of the work with variation in throttle input. You want to avoid lifting completely with the wheel turned sharply. For the most part, you want to have at least a little bit of throttle fed in when you are off the brakes. It has 50/50 weight balance, so it's more like an MR, in that respect.

I'm sure you can find some Autumn ring videos, and this won't be a lot different than a week like the Lotus Elise we ran here. It was on S3's, but the concept is the same. Get the car pointed and use the throttle to steer.

New splits, using bb 1/2.

Haven't figured out how to get more out of t1 yet.

Thanks Patrick and Kevin. I just watched the video and was thinking "that wasn't on C3's for sure!" So it would still be nice to see how to handle the throttle on those. In the meantime, I will try to apply your good advice.

EDIT:

Much better in the loop. 0.75s at the line

I say this every week and never follow through, but I can't wait to try this combo. Diablo 3 has consumed my free time. It is so freaking addicting but this week will be different!

Broken-in while throwing it around. :P 247hp max.

On the awkward downhill-left before the loop, the only way I could match Kev's 37.5xx was to late-downshift to 2nd and then back up to 3rd.
But I'm getting 37.8's there on a normal lap, including this one: :ouch:

Clearly missing the boat in T2.

That's how I'm doing it. ;)

It's a momentum corner, and if you shift down going in, you lose speed. If you leave it in 3rd, you lose power on the way out.

Of course, my car is not broken in quite yet. I was managing some faster T1's (.3's), and even converted to some faster overall T2's, but could not match my last sector of my current fast.

I'm doing that left hander in 3rd - you have to turn in early and get early on the throttle trusting that you won't just run it off on the exit.

GTA Online is not behaving so I'm gunna throw this one a few tries later on today I think!

Small update for me. My pace was more consistent tonight, and have a bit more power in the car.

Oh, yeah. Your turn, Lucas. ;)

Rubbing my nose in that T2, I see. :grumpy: 👍 I'll go paint my car and change wheels to make me faster. :)

EDIT: Gave it an hour after Monza practice...still stuck on 37.8 T2's, and found a tenth in T3, still lagging my best-lap by 0.038.

You fast guys must love awkward left-handers. I'm...still getting to know them, at this point.

Awful sector 1, great sector 2, and average sector 3 for a 1 tenth gain at the line.

Gonna give this one a go, first laps, car not broken in yet...

.01 gain at the line. Best T2 split I've seen so far was a 1:07.8

Was able to tie some sectors together tonight, although I gave up around a tenth in the last sector on this run compared to my fast before it.

Made full breakin miles, but might have been a bit down on power during this run. Ran for a few laps after, and now oil change gave me 3 HP back.

Hmm, does that T1 look familiar, Lucas? :sly:

Very nice Stef 👍

New splits :

Finally getting somewhere.... not satisfied yet.

Big fat copycat. :grumpy:

I think I may need to request an online session with you, to show me the magic in T2. :dopey:
We need to test this baby anyway...💡

Think I found some T2 love. :) On lap 18 of a no-restart session, I had some low 37.5's in T2 but
this one rids me of your copycat T1. :P A good, but tail-waggy T2, and T3 was about a tenth off PB.
Just to be different, I kept it in 3rd for the awkward left-hander, as Chris suggested. 👍

Your turn, Kev...to pull farther ahead.
