Should be an interesting week. I will be back and able to compete for a few days before heading out to a wedding. Looking forward to it.

Edit: Guys on my friends list, keep your bspec drivers available and I will help you on your way to that 3.6 million for the car.

Seasonal time trials will earn you Cr2m for about 6 mins effort (incl. picking a car)...

Hey Everyone,

Our fearless leader EDK, has decided to take a well deserved vacation and a few of us are going to step in and take over for a few weeks. JoostBaksteen, Vaxen and myself will fill in the time.

I will be doing the WRS Week 19 and I wanted to give everyone ample time to save up some credits. We will be driving the Ford GT LM Spec II Test (Race) Car (the black one you purchase from the 'Gran Turismo' garage) and it costs 3.6 million credits, plus tuning parts, so start saving those pennies 👍

Feel free to post any questions you may have.

Jerome

Hi Jerome.

Could you not also borrow this car, as you say plus tuning parts I’m guessing that it may not be arcade mode.

I borrowed a car from GTP_Fastas (Dan) went to track in practice mode, was able to use said car, buy upgrades in race and tune.

If this is correct and fits in with your week 19 plans maybe this will help out the members that, may not have the time to spend on grinding credits with their busy lives.

If this idea fits in with your plans, I for one will make my car available for others to use.

Phillip.

I now have one of these cars on both accounts (had one on my main account and just bought one on my GTP account). I too can 'lend' a car as Phillip suggests to anyone that needs one.

Excellent suggestion Phillip 👍

New seasonal events have gone up today - another easy way to ~ 1,500,000 CR for the five events. You can't use the beastly RM'd Civic from the other week though :P

I bought the Black Ford GT last night and raced it where I think it should be raced. It was fabulous - a really nice drive actually.

My BSpec drivers are I guess :)

I'm a sucker for info & wanting to know immediately about new stuff that gets added :)

Hmm, interesting.

At one point, I was told that you could not tune a car that your friend had made available online.

This car is not available as "Arcade Only", so it's safe to assume this will be run in a GT Mode event.

I'm pretty sure you were able to tune a shared car before the update as I borrowed a NASCAR from my main account. You weren't able to buy from the Tuning Shop though.

I'll be honest and say that I've never borrowed a car or had anyone borrow one of mine. But I'm definitely open to the idea and I can buy a 2nd one to share too 👍

....So long as we can:

A) any amount of 'friends' can borrow the car at any given time for as long as they need and
B) I don't have to keep my PS3 online and signed in for this to happen.

Anyone know the answer to those questions?

Jerome

I can answer D and say that you do not need your PS3 on, at all. The car is uploaded to one of your slots and friends can select it and press "Borrow", until you decide to unshare it. I do not know what happens if you are mid-race with it and the owner decides to try unsharing it, I would imagine it will tell you that you can't.

To keep this fair in GT Mode, people will need to be able to perform available Stage 1-3 Tuning upgrades, and any available stage 1-3 weight reductions.

I understand being able to add the parts that are available in the in race tuning menu, but can those other functions be performed?

With all of the suggestions we've given everyone for earning cash, I'd rather not think "Borrowing" this car will be required.

If it was one of the cars costing 10-20 million, I would look at it differently. But the amount needed to buy this car can be earned in many ways, in a very short amount of time.

I would agree with the above, for what that is worth.

I believe the only available upgrades are rigidity, supercharger and engine level 3, which makes it essentially the same ballpark as the Takata Dome NSX week in terms of what you can/can't do, assuming that supercharger add-ons are visible in the same way as Turbos are.

I’ll take my car off the share scheme.

Sounds good Kev.

I disagree. Participation is dropping off quickly as it is and if sharing rides means a few extra people will have a go who would otherwise not bother then I'm all for it.

I'll be away for a few days next week so I'd be happy to share.

Cheers

Stephen

These were my thoughts too, but not only that but the community spirit , I have a few members on my friends list that have since GT5 came out had no time for grinding credits, yet alone take part in WRS, almost zero credits and barely any licences, were as they were in GT5p WRS week after week.

I’ve sent them cars for race events to help them, as a friend would do as to speak. I would have set the car to the required setting for the event, weight reduction stage 1 – 3 tuning so that no other parts would need to be purchased, just leaving personal setting to camber / toe and others, making it not an issue for any other parts needed.

It was only a suggestion to help others with limited time on their hands, but if race admin would sooner not allow this that’s fine by me.

Phillip.

I don't agree with this assessment entirely.

We had a very large splash of participation early on, but it's diminished considerably since, which is to be expected.

Our average participation levels are remarkably similar to the early days of GT4 WRS (same number of weeks in), and many weeks would be among the top participating weeks in the Prologue days.

This with a game that has a much more extensive set of online features, not to mention the potential distractions of seasonal events or B spec racing to earn extra credits.

More than anything, I wanted this to be researched more thoroughly before giving this to people as an out, only for them to find it would not work, for some reason, as we made it to the race week.

The whole point of giving everyone advance notice was so they could go get the car if they wanted to participate.

just to be clear, everyone also knows about the seasonal events that give level 21,22,23 tickets, and that anyone with more than one game save, (being most everyone with a GTP tag) can send themself the 22 ticket and get the car for free, right? Not saying people have to, just another easy way to obtain the car.

Bought one myself yesterday, it looks like it could eat me alive :scared:
Awaiting to see what track to use it on,now get some overal practice in.

Edit: I don't know about any tickets on seasonals

Expert seasonal event - all 3 races give out Gift tickets for first place finishes. You have to work a lot harder to get the wins, but it's not that difficult after a couple of tries. I think only one of the tickets has the potential to be the Ford though and it's overwhelmingly unlikely that you'll win it. Best bet is to run the 2 time trials events and then the other seasonals in any order til you get 3.6 mil

The car is superb, imho - had a few laps round Sarthe in it.

Hi there guys, just a little tip for us all, we can get this car from Lv22 ticket (as you can see HERE), that can be won in the new seasonal lotus race ;)

Edit: Sorry guys, did't saw CSLACR post:guilty:

Well the use would be backing your save, and trying multiple times get it. Some people frown on this, others don't.
