GTP_WRS (GT5) Week 20 : BEC at Suzuka

Ok, low 50s in T2 I can foresee, but the 1 second slower that I am in T1 I don't really understand - I'm taking all the turns in the esses in 4th gear apart from the long turn 1 when I downshift to 5th, then 4th, then 3rd to exit and I don't see where I'm losing a whole second, am attempting to part-throttle most of the turns and pay particular attention to the final 2 turns for the run up to the degners - anyone care to post suspension settings!? I've chucked on 13/12 (ish) for spring rate and something like 2.7/2.1 on camber - also running a fairly tight diff to try and avoid too much drift. Drives pretty well but doesn't appear to be fast, or, I'm not doing it right (probable)

Oh and one more thing - this car is awesome! I'd dismissed it and sold it/gotten rid of it when I first won it by doing the FGT races, silly.....

Not had a chance to run this one yet... hopefully later tonight. Never driven this car even in GT4 but love Suzuka.

You're on fire there Wes - nice job mate. 👍 And you too Phillip - great T1 👍

Less of the Old Guy, you 40 year old "whipper snapper" :sly:

Enjoy WRS.

And why have we not seen you in GTP_IDOR and GTP_Classics A number of members from WRS have enjoyable races online here.

Phillip

As you know my native language is not english so i went to see what that expression meant:

"What old people, generally your grandparents, call "youngsters". The word is derived from the term "snapping your whip" which means getting a b0n3r. So basically your granddad is calling you a whipper snapper because you can get it up and he can't. The term has been used less frequently since the development of viagra"

:D:lol:

As for your other question, simply a question of time :guilty:

Still messing with tuning, but I have improved my time some.
I still a couple spots that could use improving, closing in on my goal though!👍

T1: 1'01.252
T2: 51.066

Still room for improvement, yet it always seems there is room for improvement.
T1: 1'01.197
T2: 50.769

T1: 1'00.798
T2: 50.634

This car is such a blast! All I want to do is just drift the entire s-section in the beginning....errr...make that every corner!

---------------

I don't know if this is going to help any one, but since very few have been posted, here is the tune I've been using...

Thank you teecro for the set-up.👍

T1: 1'00.894
T2: 50.637

T1: 1'00.619
T2: 50.472

Seemed to have found a set-up that works for me. I have only put about 20 laps in total but should have more time this weekend, quit my weekend job!

:D:lol:

"whipper snapper" is a term used to describe a young, impertinent person.

Or young cheeky person.

English to Portuguese translation

"snapper whipper" é um termo usado para descrever uma pessoa jovem e impertinent

If the translator is correct.

Phillip.

Splits:
1'01.328
50.468

Setup:
stock diff
5/3 (ABS 1)

-20/-20
8.4/10.6
6/7
6/7
5/5

2.0/2.0

I don't really know what I'm doing with the setup, so I look forward to seeing what some of the really fast guys are using and trying that out.

1'00.780

Love the track!!! 👍
The car on the other hand
Just need to find a good setup I think
Good one this week Joost 👍

T1: 1'03.839
T2: 52.119

Running stock setup. Car seems fun but I'm indifferent on the track. I'm going to try adding on some of the non-tune parts and see if I can progress through this one.

Didn't see any mention yet, unless I'm passing it over, but anything not track besides grass and sand? Had more than one occasion where I was hanging a third wheel onto the green rumbles. In the past I think this is considered off track but I thought I would check.

Yeah the green part is considered off-track.
This is from the first page...
'The green painted concrete next of the rumbles is not part of the track'

I was just trying out this new combo, love the circuit, hate hard tires.:scared:

This is going to test my resolve, I can't keep the thing from spinning entering fast corners. Guess I'll have to try the slow in fast out approach.

I need lots and lots of laps with this one!!

What can also help (e.g. in the first corner) is to experiment with keeping your foot on the (gas) pedal. Not all the way down, just a little and add a little simultaneous brake. That way you can keep more grip.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it try today. I clearly need to change my driving style on hard tires, I'm truly terrible on them.:)

Old guys like BEC? :sly:

This old guy can't drive this thing, need to learn to be more subtle on the brakes. I have two bricks for feet. My less than optimal style of late braking, then mash the throttle doesn't work here.

I may pass on this week if I can't get the hang of it.

I had a couple of GSX-R bikes back in the day, glad they didn't oversteer like this thing. (my lame attempt at humor)

Hi Addictions, I'm a newbe here and just wanted to introduce myself. Hope your bike accident wasn't too serious, I can relate being a biker myself.

Be careful out there.

Don´t brake :sly:, you can go from the first curve almost to T1 only lifting a bit the throttle on 4th gear.

I'll try anything at this point, maybe if I drive backwards I can get rid of the oversteer.:sly:
