GTP_WRS (GT5) Week 20 : BEC at Suzuka

Was planning on giving this one more go but after today's Club Championship I'm in no mood! 1st round was wick and in the 2nd round I was 5under after 10 then hit the meltdown button and finish 76.:ouch:

Submitting with splits on board. Good luck guys:tup:

@Jon (Carlos) - Cheers, best T2 by about .150 - not entirely sure why, I got a nice exit from Degner 2 and I didn't think I got the tight hairpin entirely perfect - but both parts of Spoon were nice - I also (I think) nailed 130R and had a reasonable end to the lap - I've run about 50-60 laps perhaps and I'd expect after that many laps to have a 'quick' lap which is maybe a tenth or two better than my 2nd best 'quick' lap...for some reason this week, it's 7 tenths.... for that reason I get the impression I'm going to struggle!

Sorry Matt, missed this last night. I 'm with you 100% on this - my fastest lap is .7 up on my others. Even though it's my fastest splits I can see where more time is, but it's so damn hard to string it all together in this car (for me at least). I was a bit cautious in turn 2, into the second part of spoon and also into the chicane. I also dropped a tenth through Degner 2 as I went in too hot and as I came out on the run to the hairpin I saw the little yellow arrow close right up!

Anyway, I'm submitting with this lap and moving onto the Mini - good luck mate

Better still this afternoon, with a little more wheel time and a little more patience. Will be giving this one a final go tomorrow before submitting.

is there a setting to where you can see the name of the turns? Seems like I used to see them, but its been awhile and I don't recall ever turning anything off.

I know some of the AMG Academy Special Events at Nurburgring had the corner names shown. I'm not sure if any other area of the game itself has them.

These track maps here are quite useful, and several do include the corner names.

Here is the Suzuka map. Thanks to AMG. for the track map. :)

Some more laps, but finding this combo very difficult :ill:
Crash a lot at Degner and if i have a good split at T1 i choke at the harpin.
Think i´m moving on.

T1: 1:00.383
T2: 50.162

but with a horrible T3

Couldn't get to my best lap yesterday. I stayed 0.4 away from it, so submitted with splits on the board

I fully intended to submit this week, but I never got round to it, so I won't be submitting this week, which I'm sure a few of you will be pleased with.;)

This will be only the second week of the GT5 WRS that I have not taken part in, so I probably needed a week off and I'll be back next week.:)

Little improvement:

59.934
49.853

I just can't put all the splits together :banghead: if the one is good the next one is bad. I'm putting in one more stint before submitting

No more time this week. Submitting with splits on board. Good luck guys.

never was able to beat my times again, I would be up .5 at T1 and lose it all in the spoon curve.... frustrating.... oh well. This weeks looks like fun.... maybe get some time tomorrow for it. good luck guys.

Splits from my very tidy looking submission. My prior best gave some up in the last sector that I made up on this run, so these are slightly slower at T2.

Good luck to all in the results. 👍

A final session tonight yielded...

1'01.428
0'51.157

I left maybe half a second out on the track but could spend another week looking for it. On to Autumn Ring...

EDK
From this morning's session, I had a 360 degree spin at 130R, 100% clean and fully recovered for exit into Casio and onto the next lap.

Enjoy ;)

Kevin's spin reminded me of one of the greatest American Car drivers ever:

I think Ace is a GTP member too...👍

Had very little time available, but the combo was so awesome I had to have a bit of a crack at it. Thanks, Joost!

Also thanks to Sid and Kev for the Frankensetup. Not that I did it any justice, but I guess you've got to do it wrong to know what the fast fellas in the replays are doing right ;-)

T1: 1:01.728
T2: 50.799

Submitting. Now, where did I leave that .7+ in sector one? (*sheepishly* Oh, that's right, in the runoff at 130R).

Is it just me, or is Suzuka one of the tracks you have to understand to Understand? I think it's probably my favourite of the real race circuits (not counting Nordschliefe), so it really would be nice to get better at it.

Where, in this case, Understanding is very strongly correlated with going faster.

Those of us who played a lot of Prologue gained a very intimate understanding of the track. Logging a lot of hours both online and in TT, in many different cars, following fast racers on track and fast ghosts offline, really can't be replaced. I can put less time into a combo here than most other tracks and still perform well, relative to my normal placement. I know what I need to do to be fast, it's only a matter of convincing the car to do it. ;)

Go me?? Thanks :)

I submitted with a good jump in line time...not going to spoil any surprises by posting splits. ;)

.....mostly cause I haven't checked the times.. I think it was in the 1'02.4 / 51.3 range..

Maybe a typo Tim?

OOPS, double post (my bad, sorry)

MadMax

Man, would it have killed you to post some splits before 1 minute until deadline time. :sly:

You've been at this a long time, so I'll just assume you either did not have net access or made a last minute run.
