Grrr... Now i have to go out and find another 0.10 at least... I haven't even seen a 42.4 in a single purple lap so I've got some searching to do to make that happen over 3 laps.

My best lap last night was 42.37x, and I hope to beat that once I switch to the wheel on Sat, and then hit all 3 below 42.400. Oops, there's also GTP OMRS Sat.
And then Sun it seems like there's a ton of racing on TV (IndyCar, ALMS, F1, Rolex). Not sure I'll make my goal.

Also, I noticed that on turn 4, the 2nd part of the double-right, it actually costs you a little time if you drop the right wheels into the grass. Seems slightly faster to keep the right tires on the rumble strip. There's really only a couple turns on this track that I actually understand, the rest are still a bit mysterious. :dunce:

EDIT: Had a feeling you'd be right there with us, or above us, Kristof! Welcome back. 👍

Yah, I'm torn between practice time with the OMRS combo and trying to get every millisec out of this combo... There's far worse problems to have... :)

Now in wonderland we'd be racing these mini's around autumn ring Saturday. How fun would that be... not sure you could pass with these things without a nudge here or there nascar style though.

Kristof would be poolhas? Get's confusing around here when most of us have 2 PSN aliases, 1 GTPlanet username and a real name to boot. I only know you by Gravitron so that's pretty simple.

Yes, Kristof is poolhaas, and I'm Lucas. Don't mind what name you use, I'll respond to both.

I'm also torn...I've only spectated 1 OMRS race so far, haven't actually driven any yet. Since WRS started 21 weeks ago, I seriously have only spent my GT5 time on WRS. Last week was strange, as I got the lap I liked early, and then went and had a great time on the Fiat Expert seasonal.

Nice to beat, er, meet, you Tim! 👍
Sorry, couldn't resist!

So Tim must be WRP001 then :)
I'm also guessing some of the real names I see mentioned around here

@ Lucas: just noticed the last few weeks our splits haven't been more then a tenth apart :odd:
Good luck this week 👍

Back to WRS after 6 weeks off to tend to real life.

Here are my times after my first set of laps on this VERY addictive week.

15.245
17.457
10.221

Lots of improvement and consistency to be gained.

T1: 15.223
T2: 17.769
T3: 10.226

From yesterday, laps checked clean; went back a best-lap tic, but total 3-lap time better.

I think it's great that each week, seemingly regardless of track, car and tyre combo, Kristoph and Lucas are always within a hair of each other.

It really is going to come down to consistency this week and managing the changing tyre characteristics over the three laps. I still need to run some more as my lap three time really drops my average, but that's no hardship as this is great fun!

Is that you Eddie?

New and probably last splits:
T1: 14.745
T2: 17.018
T3: 10.073

This isn't as good as it looks.

No it looks shocking Wes, I don't know how you have the audacity to post such miserable splits

This should make the gap a little wider for the moment. New best had to get thrown out (42.27x).

14.882
17.266
10.235

(total=42.383)
I agree, Jon, it is great to have a few folks to push you to do better each week. 👍 And good insight about the tire management.

Had a another go at this

14.839
16.997
10.005

losing time in the first sector somewhere, it got a bit tight coming through the final series of corners, tried to grab as much as possible whilst still being legal, checked and checked the photomode, thankfully 2 wheels are on the kurbs, phew!

Didn't expect to see this so early.
Top splits.👍

I'm no competition for you as I have to leave tomorrow morning unfortunately.:(

will be very interesting to see all three lap times.... I think the board is really going to change come monday evening... I have about 6 replays to watch and make sure I'm clean before I post any updates.... my best lap hasn't changed any significant amount anyway, so I'll just leave whats up there up. the other two laps I've made some big improvements....... I'm now to the point of running first two laps within .1 or close to that, but the third lap is way off..... anyone changing BB during the three laps?

No but I considered it - problem is there is no straight worthy of the name where you'd have time to do it

AGREED!
I know i am struggling to get 3 laps tied together at the moment (clean ones anyways)
I can replicate my time on the board BUT 3 TIMES!
I have set myself a limit where my 3 laps have to be at a minimum before i will save them.
This one may well just be enough to tip me over the edge . . .
Cheers All !!!

Gravitron
total = 42.383

Impressive. And still on the DS3?

I got my purple lap down to 42.46x but can't do it consistently so nothing to report yet. I need to figure out turn 5 as I can beat my ghost to there regularly, but a crap shoot right there. Tried wide, tight, hot entry, easy entry, drifting, different angles and it just seems like a random outcome. Obviously I lack the driving precision to narrow down the variables enough.

I'm not having enough close calls with illegal laps so I probable need to cut it closer.

I think the leader board fetchbot might be taking a break.

I don’t know if can add anything to the “how to” deal around here but maybe a few things that I tell Little might help w/ the consistency deal for these multi lap combos. I have put in about 4 hrs so far to get into the rhythm of the track, I’m an Auto jockey so shifting will never be an issue so it’s left to accuracy in reading the change that the tires go through.

I run lap after lap for about 20 laps while looking for some consistency in my efforts. It’s not even worth my time worrying about a 3 lap time until you can chain them up. Do what ever it takes to chain them up, slow down if you have to but clone the laps. Once you can start chaining them up then try to get the two hot tire laps to chain up, don’t waste a lot of time w/ lap 1. The first lap sets the table so save wiring it for last. When your good w/ lap 2 and 3 then lap 1 is a piece of cake and you’ll have your 3 lap consistency.

I think it was just my post that wasn't getting picked up by Mr Fetchbot. Edited the post and now he sees me, closing in on JBrinkley. :)

Yes, still on DS3 (Steering sens. = 5, BB 1/5), but switching to the wheel shortly.

That turn 5 is a bugger, my fastest trips through there have been when I trail brake early (oxymoron?). Meaning, brake for a little less than 1sec, before the driving line's suggestion. This has kicked the back out, due to the 1/5 BB, and then I'm back to flooring it in 3rd, and staying tight toward the right, to setup for the busstop/chicane. In fact I only use 2nd gear for turn 1 and 3rd everywhere else.

I'm not *that* fast, so I look forward to D2 or D1 suggestions.

Slow FF cars rock! 👍

Slow down Gravitron, you're leaving me behind.
I will say I do the same as you and only use 2nd for turn one and 3rd gear the rest of the track.
Impressive time with the DS3, I thought I couldn't push it any faster but seeing you go past me like that means I just have to push harder.

Thanks for the tips. I switched my BB to 1/5 and got a new best 3 lap with these best lap splits:

T1: 14.990
T2: 17.242
T3: 10.179

(total=42.411)

I tested staying in 3rd a bit, but it messed up my rhythm. I'm shifting down to 2nd a couple extra times and at this point it's a hard habit to break. I think I'll try and get all I can out of my current technique for 3 laps (~42.40x) and then try again staying in 3rd tomorrow.

I still haven't seen 42.3 for *any* lap so I know I've got to try something different, but my fast laps are filled with low 42.4's now so I'm getting there.

PS> Not sure why, but my 3rd lap is often the fastest, which seems to go against the grain here. I also don't see that big a degradation after a 10-15 lap practice run... am I missing some required setting with regards to tire wear? Or maybe I'm just not pushing this rig as much as I should.

PPS> Didn't touch the OMRS combo at all so looks like I'm a spectator for that event. Or maybe I'll just go for a long mountain bike ride and loosen up for a long session with the WRS mini tomorrow night :dopey:

:@:WRP - You really had to bump me down a spot on the leader board and beat me by 6 thousandths of a second?

I'm sure you'll return the favor!

I submitted my time with splits on the board. Not happy with my time. Good luck to everyone still running.👍

My last effort on this combo

14.991
17.106
10.151

Edit: when summing up my times on the calculator website, the outcome ends in xx.xxx9999999, anyone else having this?
