Not good...PS3 just froze, and will not recognise discs anymore. Backed all my stuff up, and am reformatting...fingers crossed

I hope that works out for you, Bryan. One of the tips I read on the U.S. Playstation site recommended using a blu-ray cleaning disc to maintain the PS3. Your post reminded me that I still haven't done that, so I thought I'd mention it for anyone reading this.

Dale, you are so right about the mirrors. I had to throw out a lap that has a mirror just grazing a wall. Neither the photo mode nor the data logger showed any contact, but when watching the replay I kept seeing a couple of sparks come off the side of the car. That's too close for me to submit.

I see RackAttack has bumped me down another spot with an outstanding t1! 👍

I've been sleeping irregular hours trying to watch that bloody NASCAR race. Now that it's over, even though it's 3:30 a.m., I'm brewing coffee and heading to the track! :sly:

Racing On! :gtpflag:

Driving my wheel this week for a change of pace and to add some fun factor, not because I think a wheel would be quicker this combo.

I also plan on trying near the end of the week driving my DS3 and comparing to how I do after I have spent most of a week driving wheel first. I usually do just the opposite and am quicker with the DS3 by a little. Giving the wheel a fair shot this time.

T1: 28.140
T2: 17.969

That's the spirit Chuk - I listened to the race on the radio to follow the fortunes of our man Marcus Ambrose. Like everyone, he had an up and down race and was fortunate to regain a lap at the end and be promoted back up to 13th. Unfortuanate in some ways though, as he was top 5 for the first half of the race.

I'm a BIG Marcus fan! It was exciting to see him win last year, and I'm hoping he does it again! [and again!]

He ran a great race, to be sure. Bad luck got him, but it was still a respectable finish for Daytona! 👍

Lost a couple of hundredths in T2 but was faster through T1 and faster to the line also.

I love racing in the morning!!! :)
T1: 27.679
T2: 17.296

Not my best t3, but I'll take it!!! :sly:

edit: Did I happen to mention that I love racing in the morning!!

This t3 is no better than the last one, but I'll take it again!!! :sly:

The old PS2 laser used to run on two metal rails and the grease used to congeal on these - not sure of the set up inside the PS3 but the fault sounds very similar.

Chuk your just 2 tenths behind now at T2 and currently in 2nd thats pretty dang good.👍

I had a mini goal of trying to catch Toy who is in the lead in D4 on the board right now. I think maybe I did and if so Ill be pretty happy.:)

T1: 28.188
T2: 17.505

I found some of the time I'm losing in t3, but I'm still a tenth of my best in it. Still, a little more progress, though my t2 is slower by .010. :dopey:
T1: 27.597
T2: 17.294

:)

edit: Thanks Jack!! I'm waiting for the rest of the racers to get over their Nurburgring hangover, and see where I stand after a couple of days. I'm quite pleased, though!!

Why is it than some time when you save your best time replay, it is saved with your best time as title, but when you open it it is actually an other lap with a previuos best time from the same session that has been saved.

For some reason I always end up participating in London (reverse) WRS events, lol. Anyway, the Mini on the grippy front tires is fun to chuck around the narrow streets. I found out that the top end is quite useless so I started shifting at around 6000 rpm. And being carefull with the throttle to prevent excess understeer.

First splits:
27.517
17.321

First splits:

T1: 27.916
T2: 17.503

Take care of your mirrors.

  • No Contact with walls or other objects. Any contact with walls, no matter how minor, will result in a DQ.

The time shown in the replay theater before you load your lap is the fastest lap time that you achieved and saved.

The time shown in the Top Right of the screen when viewing your fast lap is the PRIOR fastest lap from that session. The actual fast lap time will show very briefly at the end of the run, but the easy way to get the time is to just take it from replay the theater screen.

Second run, improved in sector 1 and 2. Not happy with the final sector, I got a bit nervous when I saw the split ;)

Nice to see that D3 us running close again in these early stages!

Hoping to get a fair amount of Laos in tonight ;)

Haha! Well spotted!

Stupid autocorrect :(

Happens to me a bit, I use the app 90% of the time.. I normally notice before I post or before someone else spots it.

Was just about to post these up and checked through the thread and noticed that Viper beat me to it, but I think it's worth emphasising that you really must be careful with this on the penultimate turn in T1 (Last right hander in T1) as you can put the mirror WAY into the armco and it will not make a *THUD* noise, nor will it slow you down, but you have made contact with the armco, technically and you will be red flagged if you miss it!

I think I beat you here Viper - swallowed almost half of it! ;)

Because of this indiscretion I have no splits to report (yet), this was on my quickest lap of my last session and was a 45.090 - I hooked up a 44.999 though which I binned, and 45.023 and 45.050 all ruined at the last turn, not good at all :indiff: :nervous:

Edit: Quick few laps more and I got these!

27.585
17.423 :banghead:

T2 is weird...you can exit the long left-hander nicely and get round only to find your ghost passed you....but how!? It seems quite random....

BB 3/6 ABS 1 (Best brake setup for this combo IMHO after trying literally tonnes of combinations!)

Indeed! I normally spot them, must of been in a rush!

Yea I use the app whilst I'm at home, apart from the Mac to upload replays! App works very well.

Just had a short 10 lap stint, being a bit more aggressive in the 1st sector, and lowered the abs from 6 to 1, which is probably helping.

T1 27.877
T2 17.503

Lost a bit of time in the last sector, but hopefully will get it all together by the end of the week.

I actually get a lot of 'Error Report's' and it crashes a fair bit, but I'm not all that bothered by it.

Will eventually get some laps in :)

I haven't had one error report that I can remember! Just one of them things I guess! ;)

Yea... I've not managed any laps tonight!

Might be an idea. Could be a bad install.

I normally get an hour or so in before the missus gets home from work, but it's her day off today so haven't got a chance! :(
