One thing I can't figure out with you're tune is how the heck did you arrive at those gear ratio's? I've used the tranny trick and it doesn't seem to want to provide me with those figures.

Just stumbled on this thread in the tuning forum, as the thread title describes my worst problem with online racing, tire wear and lighting up tires. It starts out kind of boring, but then gets a bit more interesting when it's revealed that he's talking about this Merc combo, and some well-known tuners at GTP are getting all into it.

If the wheels are changed from stock, then the gear ratio ranges usually change too. I think Wes had custom wheels (since they were yellow!), so maybe you should change yours too.

Giving Wes tune a shot.

I do pretty much the same sector times but Biffys splits say it has tons of more potential so that makes it a no brainer for me to switch to myself with my DS3.

I was thinking about switch to driving wheel, was getting very tired of not being competitive in D2 this week but now I might not. We will see.

That turn after the T1 split is actually quite tricky. I've gone off many times there too and I lost a bit of time through there on my current lap also.

Holy crap you guys with your splits! Did everyone but me have the "special" sauce with dinner last night?

My posted split is my fastest run through T2 by far, and suddenly I find myself .150 behind with a weak last sector. I'm really out of ideas right now, I can't see any way to improve with my current approach so either it's time to figure out a new line through sector 2 or find a different tune. Guess I'll have to sit down for another session and find out!

Need some help here! I posted a set of splits (which were on a great lap time for me) and fetchy picked them up and posted them on the leader board.
I went back in later to see if I could improve and when I went to load my ghost, I discovered I failed to save the lap!!!! I hate it when I do that.

Now it seems as fetchy won't pick up my new set of splits that just happen to have the same total time as others I had posted before.

Can someone reset my time for me?

His tranny is a trick tranny, a new kind of one to me and you have to follow his instructions.

Step 1 set the tranny to default settings.

Step 2 set the final drive to 3100

Step 3 set the top speed slider to minimum/all the way left

Step 4 set all the gear ratios

Step 5 set the final drive to 2000

Wes is so tricky he decided he wanted his trick tranny to end up with a FD at minimum(2000) so he found where to start setting the FD for his trick tranny(3100) instead of full to the right(often 5000) so he would end up with a minimum FD with the perfect top speed.
