Come on, don't come right out firing against the combo in the first 3 posts.

There are a lot of people who will have never driven this, and you should let them form their own opinions.

We have a short list of arcade cars on GT5, and most of them are going to end up being used at some point. Be glad that I didn't leave it on the default Comfort Soft tires, and also be glad that I didn't put you on a city track.

There's something to be learned in terms of car control and anticipation/setup with this combo, give it a try and you'll see what I mean.

When the Ferrari was suprisingly very stable and fast, this car for a fact is unstable and slow. I did some races with it in 'watermelon' series. But then again, the challenge lays in antoher corner. But I can imagine the difference going from the F10 TT to this one will be huge :)

Another few laps and my new split times are:

T1: 22.495
T2: 18.835

EDIT:

T1:22.510
T2:18.757

I agree, when you regularly participate in the bi-weekly time trials to see what combo you're going to be using, it's all of the various levels of grip that PD throws at you that you have to get used to. I've been doing them for quite a while now, and the various levels of grip I've dealt with get you thinking about all the combos you can experiment with. It can help you come up with ideas for WRS events as well. But unlike the WRS, you're competing against the world, and all of the times are actually visible as opposed to their splits.

And I'll admit, this is actually a pretty nice combo. It may not be very grippy, but at least I like it. For me, the challenge was getting the car to drive around the first corner as quickly as I could without going outside the rumble strip.

New best:

22.824
19.146

If I can convert a 22.7xx sector one into a quick lap I'll be very happy.

Not going to be a great combo for me, oh well :) At least I'll have an opportunity to try and understand the last corner on East.

Mind...Cannot...Grasp... Arghhhhh! :dunce:

The thing I like about these change-up combos (non race cars, a little out of there elements) is the interesting shuffle in the leader board. Some folks who might not feel so comfortable in full-blown racing qualifying laps, dare to push themselves and post some awesome times!

And for me, I quietly try to learn what I can and improve over the week :dopey:

First decent session.
22.659
19.154

Busy week ahead at work so I have no idea if I'll be able to do some more.

Hi. This is my first Offline Time Trial event (I need to improve my WRS Division :) )
I just done a quick session and managed a poor lap. :(

My splits:
22.738
18.898

Improvement in OT and some in T2.
23.003
19.138

22.781
19.267

22.795
19.194

I get a better T1 and push T2 too much, but improve my OT.

Improved T2 and OT.

Better t1 but threw away time in t2 but then best lap over the line. I may actually be enjoying this. Buts it's annoying :-)

22.799
19.367

Very messy, but will do to start.

22.795
18.968

Can i have someone's thoughts on this?

I hope this is clean ?

Also, how do you drop a photo into the post ?

I actually like this combo. Seems to favor planning over reaction time. First 10ish laps:

23.158
19.249

I did not classify that concrete as out of bounds for this combo, so it's clean.

No kidding about this being a lesson in weight transfer. Everytime I watch my replay, it's like watching an SUV of some sort, the car rocks so aggresivley in between turns. I have to learn how to be smoother with the wheel.

22.781
19.100

I'm not using any aids apart from ABS 1 as normal and my BB is front 4 rear 6 :)

New splits.

22.724
19.178

I've done my best laps with BB on 7/3. Not sure that it makes a lot of difference though.

Got some new splits.

22.666
18.925

Was a bit worried as I go on the concrete/drain area on the the last corner and remembered that it was out of bounds the last time we were at this circuit. Then I saw nicnew's pic and it seems it's OK to go there this time.

I still think there is a little left in it for me this week. Will have to see if I can find time to have another go.

Main thing is that I forgot to detail it when I put the event up. That, coupled with the fact that this car has loads of understeer there convinced me that we would be OK to leave it for this one event.

Funny you should say that, I had exactly the same worry, until I re-read the OP and it says all surfaces are track

I should add that unless the penalty system has been improved, it may be possible to have 3 wheels off there without getting a penalty (3 wheels on dirt or grass, not hard surface).

So everyone still needs to carefully check their replays. 👍
