Thankyou Vaxen

Woohoo, Division 1 :D Really did not expect that. I've got my work cut out if I want to fight for podiums though

Welcome new drivers!
A good batch of D3 guys I see, looking forward to competing with you all.

Division 3 Bronze? Seriously? With THAT time?

OK, this puts me in a bad spot. I've run the past three events for myself and never managed a time beyond the worst drivers in the roster... I would have imagined my Qualifier would be too bad for my actual performance, but this way around... what does it take for a player to get demoted to a lower division? ;-)

Anyway, thanks guys for your amazing Series, I'm proud to be a member and look forward to race with you.

Congratz Seismica (and all the other new drivers). D1... you've got your work cut out for you in that division for sure!!!

EDIT: geez! Just noticed there are 6 new D3 drivers... guess I've got my work cut out for me too! 👍

Congratulations to all the new drivers and particularly yourself and SuperSic. Worth the wait now wasn't it :sly:

Thankyou :) It was definitely worth the wait. D1 will mean I have to work harder so it should improve my driving in the long run. When I had a go at week 26 I was pretty astonished how fast everyone was, I was down amongst D3 with my final time

I'm confident i'll be competing most weeks (Unless it's on a wet track :sly:) and so far it's been great fun. Looking forward to competing against the best :)

Congrats to all the other new drivers on your division placements aswell .

Rock on! Now I can submit times , and have something else to do other than trade. Congrats to all the other new drivers! 👍

Welcome, I finished 36th and 41st right after qualifying, so don't worry, you won't be the first. Much easier than getting promoted.
As long as you keep having fun and playing, you'll work it out pretty quickly. 👍

Welcome and congrats to the new drivers!!
I'm looking forward competing with you all ;)

Ok so that now that I have made it in the WRS what should I do now? Or what are my options?

I look forward to racing you guys:)

Start racing! :D

Here's the link to this week's WRS event.

GTPlanet runs monthly races too. It's called the "Online Monthly Race Series" (OMRS). Here's the link for that as well.
All GTP members arew welcome, regardless of their division. It would be great to see some new drivers! The schedule is posted on the first page.

If you have any question for either series, just post it in the thread and someone will jump in with the answer.

Welcome to everyone, and I hope you all enjoy the series
Lots of new D3 drivers I see! :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

Anytime.

For the signature pic, just edit your signature again and choose the "more" option from the smiley box on the right hand side of the text window.
Expand the pop-up and it's in the lower left of the window. :gtplanet:
It's all about the smiley box :P
:gtpflag:

Congratulations to the new drivers.

It actually is possible.
1) Run WRS
2) If you constantly underperfom, request to the WRS administrators to demote you.

It is rather exceptional and on your request only, with the needed proof!

People around here seem to be known by their first names instead of online alias', so thought i'd introduce myself properly. My name is Mark and i'm a 21 year old engineering student obsessed with motorsport :) I'm very competitive and usually have lots of free time (I'm a student, so naturally we spend all our time skiving off and being hungover), so i'll be looking at stealing some D1 podiums from time to time.

I went to look again and I was right, you are a member longer then me.

The first name basis is mainly used in the GTPlanet chat. WRS people tend to go an discuss issues there, to avoid frustration.

G'day Mark  Welcome to D1 👍

I'm Chris, I'm 40 next month (aaaargh! :yuck:). Self employed 💡 I've been playing driving games since Namco Pole Position came out and have obsessed over every installment of GT 👍 :dopey:

I didn't start in D1 like you though, smarty pants... I had to toil and sweat and be beaten with clubs to get there.... from D2 Bronze. (Div 3 Bronze in GT5P...) Never had a podium yet in D1 - managed 4th place twice... so you just get in line there, boy! :P

I didn't realize I've never introduced my self properly either.
My name is Marc as well.

What's with the :yuck:? 41 now :D!, and also self-employed. 👍
Ahhh Pole position..Too many arcade racers (and a vic20 racer that I cannot remember) to try and figure out what started my obsession, but my Avatar is definitely the game that threw the obsession into overdrive. Then along came GT4.....

I seem to have missed the WRS introduction thread when I made the post above :dunce: Ah well.

I've been here quite a while but i've always kept my distance/hid behind my alias so thought i'd break that cycle. Will use the chat from time to time aswell probably, if people here regularly use it 👍

G'day Mark  Welcome to D1 👍

Hi Chris  It's good to be in D1.

 I'll try and give you a good run for your money, starting this week :P It'll be like battle of the young versus... not so young... :sly: (Please don't hurt me :scared:). What line of work you in?

I certainly would have been a lot lower in GT5P. Getting my G27 has made me 1-2 seconds a lap faster than with a DS3, and a lot more consistent too.

I didn't realize I've never introduced my self properly either.

Hi Marc  Never played too many arcade racers when I was a kid... it all started with watching F1 on TV and then getting GT1 on the PSX. I've been hooked ever since :dopey:

Chris, don't feel bad as I turned 43 around the day I submitted my WRS quali time back in May of this year. You may have never won a D1 podium, but how many of your awesome tunes have taken one of the podium spots across all 5 divisions?

GT5 is the first racing game I've played since the super-nintendo days back in the 80s(?). Basically bought a PS3/GT5 back in April of this year and found the GTPlanet & WRS right away, but didn't join until I had a wheel/cockpit set up. Actually, I'm glad to be in D3 and it's the perfect level of competition for me (except Gravitron who I've figured out how to beat by 0.01 each week :sly:). My WRS goal is to hop up to D2 over the next few months following JBrinkley's footsteps and maybe by the time I'm 50 and GT7 comes out I'll be in Division 1

In real life I'm no longer self employed (once was), but now run the IT dept for a small company (in Chicago) and work out of my house (in Santa Cruz, CA) so not a bad gig! Less time driving to/from work means more time driving around a virtual track. Although that's getting tougher as my two young sons (5 & 7) are demanding some seat time. :nervous:

 Mark!
I completely forgot about the PSX! Classic....
I remember being totally hooked on Rally Cross 2 for the PS(1) as well. Not at all sure how I missed GT 1-3, but I'm back on track now (brutal pun, I agree 👍)
