Great lap Bandit 👍

So here's my replay. I'm trying not to be to upset that my short streak of Div 4 golds is over, but a division 4 bronze will have to do. :grumpy: It what us Division 5 Silver guys have to do for entertainment :)

Hope to do better this week. Congrats podiums and nice win again Bandit. Your gonna have to give us all a 1sec handicap if you keep winning :sly:

Can't get this to load. I think the PS3 doesn't like it when you rename the folder with the data in it. Would you mind reuploading when you have a chance?

Other NTSC checks are incoming.

Yeah, I've found that sometimes if I have two replays with the same ending numbers like 001 or 002 as some that I have on my Save Data folder on my PS3, it asks me to overwrite. When I tried to change the folder name on my computer and see if this would make them work it said the data was corrupted. So anyone else that wants to try this, don't.

Best option is to clear the replays from your Save Data folder on your PS3 and re-export them again after you're done from inside GT Life. (This won't delete any of your replays - they will still be in your GT Life Replay Theatre for viewing/exporting again - you only export them to the XMB in order to copy/backup them to another source, or to just have a backup.)

Kinda annoying that it has them named liked this, based on where they are on your list in the GT Life Replay Theatre, makes for more work sometimes when viewing other peoples replays.

A way round having to overwrite them is to create a new user on the PS3, then view them on that user 👍

Well of course - that's what I did for the first one the other day, then I watched these ones today on my GTP account. I realise now that would have been easier - I have enough alt accounts to warrant it.

All clean on the track, correct tires, full tank of gas and bugs splattered on the front grille......er......

This should work. I renamed the file before I compressed.

Clean and correct. No bugs on the grille but there appears to be chunks of infield in the wheelwells! ;)👍

I've taken to cleaning out the XMB save data as well as my USB stick when I'm done watching replays. That way I am not accidentally loading a replay from a previous week or one I've watched already. Still tedious if everyone has replays numbered the same but I don't run into it that often.

Great times everyone, and very close in the 'real' D2 battle i.e. excluding outliers like me and Bandit!! ;) A little disappointed to be 4 tenths off the pace of my peers but when I saw you were all running D1 times I didn't feel so bad.

Don't sell yourself short, Jon. I'm not sure I could match your pace if I put in the same amount of time you did - I managed two good long sessions on this one, plus a short warmup. I was able to put it a bit more time than I have been able to for a while (and I figured I'd need to). The last combo I did, I got one long session (still probably about 2-3 hours, I tend to go pretty hard when I get to do it), and was pretty happy with what I wound up with for the effort invested - about .1 behind Matt and .5 off the podium nutters - sound familiar? :sly:

Thanks for the check. Great work on the replay checking, guys 👍

I also normally just delete the numbered replay folder off the USB if it exits, then copy and view it in another account on the PS3.

Kinda annoying that it has them named liked this, based on where they are on your list in the GT Life Replay Theatre, makes for more work sometimes when viewing other peoples replays.

One of the things that looked nice about PS4 was the ability to share videos. It looked like you could send a video from your console to another console. Watching the promo, it looked much easier than the PS3. Be really nice if the videos were somehow able to play on both PAL and NTSC consoles, although I have no idea if that is possible.

Just keep in mind that replays are not videos. They are merely code that only GT5 understands. What will be nice is if PS4 will allow directory structures or files other than pictures to be sent. Or even better yet, if GT6 will allow for a more global experience and sharing of replays between the various regions and/or formats.

This is the reason why Replay Data is only a few hundred kilobytes. Imagine if it were in .avi or .mp4 video at 1080p or 720p the size would be way too large to even process let alone copy to your PS3 to then do what you like with, in this fast-paced world of high-speed broadband and ultra fast loading times (at least not in GT5) - we've almost come to expect this, but it's just not portable or practical for replays. I like the ease of access in sending/viewing replays on my PS3 that are not mine, and by being this small in size it saves waiting time for downloading and processing etc. for when you want to just race/drive/go faster and don't have 30 mins to play, let alone wait for a replay to download to your PS3.

What the PS4 "should" be capable of (this is just fantasy no doubt) is the ability to record video without the use of an external device like a PVR or capture card with the ability to upload from there to YouTube or Vimeo (insert your own preference here) rather than faffing about with external hardware and a computer.

My replay, I hope this one will get a green flag!!!!

Al

I've posted my stupid mistake at page 1. Is this under investigation or is it missed?

Congratulation to all podiums and everybody who achieved there goals 👍

Some very close calls in T3, nice to see.

But i made a stupid typo with my submission. I ran a 1'42.000 instead a 1'42.100. Can that be changed? Sorry for that that mistake :ouch:

We'll discuss it in the morning. A 1-digit typo can be forgiven, but we have some rules set up. Will let you know.

Congratulations to all podium winners. I hope those in question get your promotions soon. You are working very hard and putting up some amazing times!

Frank what happened? No submission? Our splits were so close. I will get my replay up shortly.

Al

Well watching my replay of my best lap I noticed it was dirty...there was no more time for me to set a new clean lap....and my other best lap I had on replay was half a second of your end time.... so a medal would not have been possible....

Thanks for the kind words Ren, appreciate it 👍 but I'm not convinced I'd have got near the times that you and Matt posted if I ran for another week

There's always next time...

For what it's worth, I have no issue with Dennis swapping places with me. Nobody loses out except me and I'm happy to drop a place for a 1 digit typo. I retain a podium position irrespective and got a great result against my handicap. 👍

Will post my replay later.

Matt
