GTP_WRS Week 13 : Ferrari 512BB @ Eiger Nordwand Reverse

Just had another go. It seems that i've gone as fast as I can go on the first day. I'll keep trying. I just need to link up all the sectors. Easier said than done though.
 
New leaderboard set up, and I know this is the biggest new board I have ever set up 👍 incredible with 20 entries on Tuesday morning. All but 3 participants of the previous combo posted splits within the first day. Are other forums that lively as well? Can't imagine so :lol:

Don't know if I'll enter for this combo myself. It's probably me but driving this combination with my new wheel is just too difficult. Steward, can we do STD mode for divisions 4 and 5 this week, please? :bowdown: (serious now).

bigracer , what's the deal with leaderboard controller part by the way?

STD for div 4&5 could be made competitive with "X" second time penaly/event.
So that the advantage would be very limited if STD mode was been used.

But I think STD should then be allowed for all divisions in the name of fairness.
 
Had a quick go of this last night. Fantastic combo for my first week in the wrs. Forgot to run offline tho. How do you run offline, is there an option somewhere on the xmb menu? I bet it's obvious, but not in front of the ps3 at the moment.

Just pull out the ethernet cable, thats what I do

I'm pretty much struggling with that first right-left:nervous:

yes, there is an option in the XMB. Go to something like Network Connection (I am not at home, so cannot check) and press the green triangle on your controller. This shows a context menu. Select Disconnect and that's all there is to it. :)

edit> Select account management and press the triangle.

FYI - You can do this in game as well. Just press the PS guide button in the middle of your bad and follow the above instructions.

Your wheel should make it easier,better throttle control?

About the standard physics,

Even if we say STD for div.4 and 5 ,I don't think division 5 will show up in rather large numbers.
I have a feeling many division 5 guys have put their GT5P copy in the drawer.
Those who are still hanging round with a year old prologue are truly diehards,:sly:
So it will stay professional for all.

I want to think I can race with the big boys, that involves racing on professional physics!
 
Had a bit away from GT5P but back now. Eiger one of my fav tracks. Seem to be getting most my time after T2, think I have the lines sorted for that. Had an hour after work .1 quicker at T2 but .9 quicker lap.

Seen a few tries under 11 at T1 but throw it away after the tunnel. I keep getting all sideways in the tunnel or not under control when I should be braking for the bottom corner. Hats off to those with low T2 times 👍

For those struggling to keep the car pointed in the right direction, try using a higher gear than you would normally. For my run, I never use 1st (even through the hairpins), and even take the last corner in 3rd! It feels slow, but any speed lost due to low torque is generally made up by avoiding that extra upshift.

It's still possible to spin, but it makes throttle control much easier.

Just my opinion please stay with pro physics even though i'm currently last (and likely to stay there) for this week I always find pro physics more enjoyable and challenging which can only improve my ability. Cheers all..
 
Wow, only 3 Division 1 drivers so far. I would've exepected more since it's a Time trial. I'm still trying to improve, but still haven't been able to link up all the sectors.

Board update.


Try not to over-steer too much, as in smoothly steering progressively turning more ,if you find yourself grabbing another hand to turn the wheel then you've possibly not braked enough.

Well my goal in my first week was to beat PAPA but I really suck at Eiger reverse.:sly: I'll get onto this combo tomorrow night.:ouch: Maybe this will make me better at Eiger Reverse.
 
I have yet to complete the golds in the Eiger events,and have found this track quite annoying. Also I have never driven the 512BB.

In saying this, I have enjoyed the combo thus far.The Ferrari is suprisingly supple and responsive to the right foot too. I feel as though for the first time ever, I am up to speed on this track. I aim to break into yhe 10's and 30's upon my next session.

Oh and Paulie this combo could well change you opinion of the track ,as it has done for me, after 7 months of nothing but contempt for it.

BTW Jeff thanks for the help, I'll see if I can switch back to Prologue from GT4 somewhere this week to try the combo again with less steering in the hairpins 👍

had another hour after work today an slowly getting the hang of the first two sectors. Struggling to get all three put togther. Have seen a 10.8** with a 30.9** then stuffed up the corner after the bridge.
