I'll try to give it another go later. Good luck everyone! 👍

Finally! Beat my target, and this is pretty close to the optimal lap I've seen in any session. 10 seconds faster at the line compared to the first session last week!

Going to submit with these splits. Can't wait to see the results, good luck everyone!

After nearly a week I finally got my replacement wheel today :D:D:D. Was getting nervous I’d miss running this fantastic combo again.....919.

Good luck to those that have already submitted and have fun to those still pushing 👍

As much as I loved this combo I only was able to do about 2 hours worth this weekend, and never once could I get a clean lap in. This morning i went conservative just to finish a clean lap. Almost did but ended up going off at the end of the lap. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

So since I do not have a clean lap, I will not be turning a time in, if you need to please remove my splits, I posted them to get on the board figuring I would get one clean lap in, it never happened so my 12 week streak will come to an end. :(

I’ve taken that corner tight too and although no contact is visible, I do here a rumble. This could be the road surface but clarification would be helpful.

I've noticed this too. I went to check another replay I had where I hadn't ran as close to the wall and heard the same rumble. It must be the the track surface changing to the green tarmac.

Sorry to hear that mate, the splits can stay as they don't really affect anything. I understand your frustration though as it's a really tough track to get to grips with but well done for trying

While I mention it, what are the rulings on:

-Painted (green) tarmac - the point where the track layouts converge after the above barrier

-drains and concrete

-block paving
Tarmac and red and white rumbles are track.

So drains, concrete, block paving are not track.

As for the green stuff, I am inclined to just let that go. I did not post specifics on it, and I don't want people tossing laps away or getting DQs due to an undefined boundary that really is not advantageous to "cut".

Is it even possible to have 3 wheels "off" at the apex of turn 2, meaning behind the white line and on the green stuff?

I would think the risk would be exiting the corner onto the straight, and the natural line is 2 wheels to the left of the white line there. If someone runs wide, they probably lost time anyhow.

EDIT: And finally, with the contact question. We don't have a data logger to see if there is a dip in speed, so we'll have to rely on audio and visual evidence.

Those concrete like tires are hard, and I have hit them. Suggest you guys may want to hit them intentionally, and watch the replay. And check how the sound compares to what you are hearing.

While I am willing to be flexible on the green paint and white lines, contact is not something we can be flexible on.

Thanks Kev. Just one final one:
This bollards chat, is it for real? (picks up coat....) :ill:

Yes. There are bollards at the apexes of the chicane or esses (whatever you prefer to call them) at the end of the GP section. They are fixed objects, like brake markers or track boundary cones. While we let people hit the optional driving line cones, due to them being optional and people who don't use them being able to drive in that space, we do not allow contact with any other objects.

.....puts coat on.

I’ll take a look at my lap again but I was running the red and whites through there, no prisoners I’m afraid.

Also, a public service announcement. I had asked in the OP if you guys could please send a PM to me and Vaxen with your car choice.

In many cases, it's pretty obvious which car is being driven, but there's quite a bit of crossover between the Cayman and 911.

I already have a list created based on submissions to date, and in some cases I had to come in the thread here to see what car was in the splits post.

Please make our lives easier than that, and make sure you are properly credited in the results. We REALLY don't want to have to update 3 results threads multiple times.

Sorry to be a bore; does the bollard have to fall over for it to be deemed ‘contact’?

I’ve shared some photos in game if anyone has the time..

Just been reading from latest post up.
ehm... I hope that I didn't run right over knocking them down :nervous: in the lap I submitted. Will be able to check later on tonight to be sure.

Edit ; Well.... @EDK , ehm... yeah... Missed them by a mile or so ! All good!

Yeah, there's a bit of needle threading through there and you can get lucky.

We noticed they were getting demolished in pretty short order online.

Too right,.. if Jason Plato were a referee..

Well more through luck than anything, they look to have stayed up on one of my laps, the rest of the replays they get destroyed :dunce:
I will now pm you and Dan and (re)read the op very carefully before submitting.

Sure you'll be Ok but I noticed on one of my discarded laps the bollard stays up but the body work of the car actually goes through the darn thing and that should in theory make it a bad lap 👍
