I'm crap at driving so I updated my livery!
Flipped the yellow base for a black base and put on some gtp decals. Far more pleasing to my eye.

Shared under gtpwrs013, Germany, flag if you're interested. For the 919.

I've been floating around in all 3 cars... trying to pick my class based on the field, honestly.

2 clean runs out of 5 in the 919 upto S9 put me at 3:58.5

Can't recall my 911 but I believe it was respectably in the 4:40 or less region.

Cayman has taken a boatload of my time only to get to a 4:51.8...

As it stands I know I will run the 919 in the feature race, but time trial looks like a different story.

First of all, I forgot to say in my last post: Happy Anniversary, WRS! It's mind boggling this has been going for 15 years, thanks to everyone who's made this possible. :gtpflag:And a great time for me to join as a rookie, with such a special event.

Now, I don't suppose this is legal, is it? :scared:

still legal, you run on rumble strip, that's allowed ^^ and welcome to the best racing comunity around

Happy Anniversary WRS!

I will read the rules and thread properly later but first lap splits as follows:

22.620
27.122
24.832
23.809
43.104
32.896
27.922
48.552
36.298

That’s first nine sectors in order :nervous:

I am using the 991, stock settings.

Looks ok to me! 👍
As long as two wheels stay on the red & white rubble strip

still legal, you run on rumble strip, that's allowed ^^ and welcome to the best racing comunity around

Thanks guys! Then I've got new splits. :dopey: Beat my original target at the line, now for the next one.

23.522
28.138
25.633
24.608
45.164
34.101
28.247
50.527
38.599

Bit of an improvement on the first 9 splits, but a massive gain over the line. Still loads of time to find & a bit of consistency on turn 1 would be nice, I’ve seen a few low 19’s in sector 1 but they only happen once every 10-15 laps :indiff:

19.817
23.300
21.018
21.270
40.242
29.303
24.982
43.368
34.940

How much free time do you have for? 10-15 lap stints?

I hit 3 consecutive 19.x first sectors, but then would mess it all up somewhere on that course. If I hit half way with no mistakes I start to get conservative so that I don't ruin the lap, which is costing me a lot of time. Plus flying down the back half of this track in 7th gear is scary. :scared::scared: My palms were sweaty and heart was racing after an hour run last night. Had to play something else to calm down enough to go to bed.

The 10-15 laps aren’t in the same stint, I only ever manage about 5 or 6 in a row then like you I have to take a brake to try & get my blood pressure back down to a safe level
I’m not sure these first 9 sectors give any indication as to what the final standings will be as I always seem to make up the majority of my time in final sectors.
The high speed sections of this track are such a buzz in this car, though I’m not sure the sparks coming out of the back of the car on the downhill part at 190 mph is doing my chassis any good

After giving each of the 3 cars an extended audition I'm going to go with the RSR 911 despite the 919 being a more exciting to drive. Here are my initial splits no thanks to the winter weather and power outages that have kept me from turning any laps today.

22.783
26.439
23.840
23.117
42.096
32.026
27.236
46.926
36.072

First offline splits in the 911, I thrashed the HELL out of it last night in @GTP_Nail's Ring Rats room (had been thinking Cayman before that, but the practice ended up being LMP vs Gr.3). We practiced the start procedure, and had a shootout with fellow Blind Rat @mr_lab_rat. :D

Way too careful after seeing the first half of the lap, so still multiple seconds should be possible at the line. The optimal here is so cool, and worth doing the full laps for (unless you like data entry like we used to do in GT5/6). If you ruin a lap early, just hit the rest of it at breakneck speed and test the limits!

22.222
26.607
24.040
23.513
42.098
32.121
27.042
46.669
35.955

19.641
23.197
20.635
20.059
37.989
27.170
23.651
40.817
30.734

getting more comfortable with the speed of the 919

It gets difficult to hit marks sometimes at those speeds.

I have been taking tips from @GTP_Nail, @suprajef, and @GTP_Dutchy .

Ned told me to find my areas that I am good at and focus on them. He said no lap is going to be perfect.

Jeff and Kevin have been showing me better lines and gears to use.
