Welcome to the main event of the WRS time trial at the beautiful Autumn ring. We have two of the fastest drivers on the (GT) planet at the starting line driving identical, race version of the Renault Megane. This short but technical track will test their skills and very different driving styles. Who will be quicker?
PASM has slightly faster start and opens up a few thousandths of a second lead before the turn one. He dives towards the apex while Doodle locks up all four wheels in a controlled slide.
The smooth driving style seems to be paying off as PASM gets better exit and sets up nicely for the turn two. Another big slide by Doodle and tighter line through the bus stop chicane brings him closer to his rival but PASM sets up wider for the next turn and with much higher exit speed he opens up a full 0.1 lead in the first sector.
Doodle won't give up on his wild driving style as he slides the car towards the apex of the next turn. While it's very exciting to watch he loses even more time as they both struggle to put the power down going over the small hill.
PASM with 0.150 lead takes the next turn on a perfect line, slight wobble as he fights for traction on the exit but he shouldn't have a problem to keep Doodle behind him. Doodle runs wide on the entry and makes a mistake of hitting the brakes with two wheels on the rumble strip. This will sure send the car into a spin.
Wow, he somehow managed to keep the car under control and pointed right at the apex! Hi didn't just do that on purpose, did he? With the car facing in the right direction he is able to put the power down well before the apex and starts accelerating up the hill. With much higher exit speed he catches PASM before the all important loop turn!
PASM takes very tight line through the loop keeping to the inside, Doodle blows right by him going very deep into the corner. PASM hits the apex on the exit perfectly but Doodle coming back from the outside edge is able to put the power down much sooner, doesn't even care about getting close to the second apex and takes the lead!
With faster entry speed Doodle sends the car flying by cutting across the next chicane curb and needs to do a small brake check to bring the car back down to all four wheels. PASM is smoother through this section but finds himself down by full two tenths before the final turn.
He runs slightly tighter line for better exit speed and start catching up to his opponent.
In the end he runs out of road as Doodle crosses the finish line in first with twelve hundredths of a second advantage.
