You need to click the little "insert picture" icon (next to insert emoticon) and then paste the link.

Are you using the BBCode or rich text editor? The former will show the link, the latter the graphic.

Rich text editor is marked in the Preferences menu, but I don't see rich text editor buttons. Posted thread in the problems forum.
