Brake pedal fixed last night (hopefully for good this time) and had time for a quick session and had a very slight improvement.

37.358
1:18.059

Having hard time getting close to my previous "good" sector 2 times, I'm off 0.35x on this lap.

Just to confirm, this image refers to the sausage kerbs right? (Rather than cones)
I should know this by know but has been a while since it's came up for me 😅

Edit: it would help if I attach the image

No idea how you guys are going faster after the update. It's back to understeery, numb cars for me saddly.

That image originally reffers to bollards and fixed cones. Sausage kerbs are not track.

For me I feel as though the extra controller sensitivity on the pad has made the change of direction quicker, which has helped a lot in the chicanes.
I only feel a small difference with traction but somehow it's made a big difference

My outside wheels are touching the sausage kerb but there is still some part of the wheel on the green, red and white kerb so that is within limits right?
Will check again tonight and if it's that close I'll leave it, my next best lap is within a tenth anyway

See the pic shared by @Animera here, imho this was within limits. So as long as you have two wheels on the rumble strip it's ok to touch the sausages.

To be honest i didn't feel a big difference in handling. Maybe the "new physics" is more of a placebo? ;)

I'm still captain slow in the final sector but improved none the less

For more the increased rear grip and being able to get on the accelerator earlier more than makes up for the slight understeer.

Well, placebo is certainly not because everyone (me included) is a second faster with it. I understand where the extra time is coming from but I really don't like the way cars are back to numb understeer.

I agree the physics are so different now, for a combo like this it helps keep the car stable given how really loose the handling was before. But the 458 gr3 in circuit experience here is almost undrivable for me, applying throttle it just understeers off track, it lift off oversteers in every braking zone, and no help from numb FFB. I'm also struggling in week 3 in the Alfa gr3 for the same reasons, oversteer then understeer, and brake balance doesn't seem to help. Normally smooth throttle control is my best ability, the less grip the better for me, but now the handling feels very unnatural to me. It makes these MR cars feel like an FF car to me, and I've never been any good at FF cars. I assume it is much better for controller users though so that's good. :)

I'm not in a position to help as you are much faster than me but I found when braking, delaying the downshifts made the car more predictable for me.

EDIT: sorry wrong thread, I was referring to the week 3 event and the Alfa

Right on that sounds smart for week 3 to help stabilize the rear on entry
But in week 3, and the gr3 458 at monza, I'm still unable to get the car to rotate in a way that makes sense to my brain, it's hard to understand weight transfer, and throttle on understeer my brain really struggles with. Gonna have to relearn how to go fast :dopey:

Yea so the leaderboard hasn't been updated in 2 days.
It seems to have stopped parsing splits for this event at the time I adjusted the deadline.

Our leaderboard guy has said he will look at tomorrow. Once he fixes it, all prior posted splits will be updated.

Sorry for the hassle, we are doing our best with the curve ball PD threw.

Thank you for the explanation. It wasn’t required and I appreciate it. I was just stating that it indeed wasn’t showing and that the leaderboard had a date a couple days ago. It didn’t seem like anyone else had mentioned it. Unfortunately, sometimes comments come across completely different then intended. Mine was never meant to be brash or demanding.

Sorry for the snide remark, i was just genuinely puzzled by my time gain. Maybe i could not feel the difference -- i was using TCS to tame the car before the physics update, and after the update the TCS might have hidden the extra numbness that is now in the car handling itself. Will try to compare my two replays before and after the update to look for different TCS workings. Maybe i can give it another go without TCS, i already feel bad for using it on the F50.

Anyways, i really appreciate the friendly and helpful input from all of you here, they help a lot in (literally) getting up to speed with GT7.

No problem, and there's always a placebo side of things like this.

All good. I have been on a work trip all week. So did not pick up on the issue right away.

Slight improve of 1s at the line with splits

36.883
1:17.653

Assuming by splits posted, my second sector is waaaaaay off from a good line. I'd guess Lesmo twins messing with me and I'm pretty sure I've lost some time in Ascari chicane and on Parabolica entry/exit.

Damn, this got me so addicted after the update, which even allowed me to gold the last test left for all golds.

Updated splits

36.807
1:16.876

Was within 0.2xx of my PB in the final sector on this lap and pretty sure I've reached my limit in the first 2 sectors. It's going to be a tall order to best this unless I can improve in the final sector.

Assuming by splits posted, my second sector is waaaaaay off from a good line.
If it makes you feel any better I struggle with consistency in the 2nd sector also. Usually it takes an embarrassing long session before I get within half a second of my PB.

I think the car was better through Ascari than rhis week...
You are probably correct, I trust your opinion more than my rusty driving. Reminds me how much I miss not being able to load ghosts from previous sessions.
